Obituary: Abiel Isaiah Cruz was granted his angel wings on 19, 2017. His final days were surrounded by family and friends. Abiel touched the hearts of many throughout his short yet memorable life. His gentle smile and eyes could melt the hearts of those around him. Even though he spoke very few words , his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Abiel possessed extraordinary strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds. His courage led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. With Abiel's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, he will forever remain in our hearts. It has been a blessing and an honor to be his parents. Obituary: Harold Crutsinger, 69, was born 11, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on , 8, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Pat, with whom he would have celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary on 9, son Randy, daughter Lisa Gonzales and husband Joe, the grandchildren he adored - Kale McCann, Katelyn McCann and Daniel Ray Gonzales, mother Dorothy Crutsinger, brother Gerald Crutsinger, and aunt Helen Hauser. He is also survived by the many, many folks who knew him as a dear friend, colleague, father figure, teacher, mentor and care giver whose heart and home were always open to hold one more. He is preceded in death by his father, Harold D. Crutsinger and by his son Rusty Howell Crutsinger. Harold grew up and attended high school in Wichita Falls, then moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas receiving his bachelors degree and participating in the Army ROTC program. graduation, he served in Viet Nam as a 1st Lieutenant in the transportation corp. He returned to Austin in l966 working for Tracor, Texas Instruments and then the State Comptrollers Office. He retired as a state employee in l995 after 25 years service. Little did he know how many directions his life would take after the sudden death of his son Rusty, age 4, in l973. Looking to see how God would use them in response to their loss, in 1976 Harold and Pat, as a team, took one of the first emergency medical care classes offered in Travis by the Texas Department of . Becoming certified emergency medical technicians they joined the volunteer fire department which covered their northwest Travis neighborhood, Travis Fire Control, as medical first responders/firefighters and began a volunteer career. Harold served in many positions including company Captain, President of the Board of Directors, and when TCFC became Travis Emergency Services District #4, he served as Commissioner of the district until he retired in 1999. During this same time, he and Pat both became American Heart Association CPR instructors and emergency medical service instructors for the Texas Department of in 1978, and began teaching CPR, First Aid, Emergency Attendant and Emergency Medical Technician classes for the University of Texas, Austin Community and their own company, EMS NETwork. Harold retired as adjunct faculty from ACC in 2005, and as a CPR faculty member from the AHA, but continued to be actively involved in EMS NETwork until his death. Harold and Pat estimate together they have taught some 8,000-10,000 people medical training. Many of those students who took aby steps with Dad and Mom Crutsinger continue to work in the EMS profession becoming EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors and Administrators. The friendships lasted as they proudly watched their students grow and advance. Never known to be idle, Harold and Pat helped start the University of Texas EMS in l978, a small group of 12-20 volunteers providing emergency medical care to spectators at home football games. That organization now provides coverage for both Mens and Womens Athletic Departments for most major sports and many events on the UT campus, with hundreds of EMS workers participating through the years. As a coordinator, Harold served as Medic Control at 179 football games, holding the longest attendance record of any worker. He was an avid Longhorn fan and will be greatly missed as another football season begins. He never retired from this job that he loved. Harold was recognized for his dedication and service in the EMS community many times by many groups; however, he was especially honored in 1986 by the National Association of EMTs as EMT of the Year and by the Texas Department of for having served as Chairman of the EMS Advisory Council for three years overseeing EMS services and personnel certifications. For all his involvement with EMS he is fondly remembered as the Father of EMS in Travis/Williamson by all that knew him. Harold may have retired many times, but he never stopped working - caring for his family and friends, encouraging, supporting, and being there when needed. He was a tower of strength and yet a very gentle man; a man who loved his family and his Lord above anything else; and a man who was respected and loved by so many. services officiated by Dr. Kie Bowman, will be held at 2:00 pm on , 12 at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway in Austin. Obituary: Zoy Ann Crutchfield, 68, of Arlington, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away , Oct. 24, 2010. Service: 9:30 a.m. , Nov. 2, in Moore Chapel. Interment: Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. , Nov. 4, in Fairview in Pampa. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. , Nov. 1, in the Moore Chapel. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending her time doing sketches, paintings, crocheting, baking, cooking, doing crossword puzzles and bird watching. She loved most to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Born in Pampa to the late Bill and Ida Mae Coronis, she graduated from Pampa High School Class of 1960. working at Lockheed Martin for 22 years, she retired in 2008. During her retirement, she volunteered at the Arlington Public Library, where she was able to share her love of books and reading with others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ida Mae Coronis, and one brother, Paul Coronis, of Pampa.
