Obituary: David Edward Cross passed away 16, 2015. He was born 18, 1941 in Donaldson, AR to C.F and Marie Cross. David grew up in Arkansas and met Linda Young when he was 18 years old. were married in and spent 39 years together. From 1967 to 1972 he served in the US Army. David was a truck driver for 50 years and spent the last 9 years enjoying retirement. He liked country western music, playing slot machines and maintaining his lawn and for a time he bought and sold cars. David was a tender hearted man who acted tough but was really a teddy bear. Obituary: Chris V. Cross, born at Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, Tennessee was born to Chris V. Cross the first and Dovie Thornhill (Cross) Price. He was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and cared for by his fraternal grandmother, Laura Cross and his aunt Mary (Cross) Blake. He had one older brother, Marvin Jones. In his early years he was a cub scout. His grandmother, Laura Cross, always told him he was brave and strong when he was young, which were also his last words. His cousins: Edward Cleghorne & Napoleon Custer Jr. were like his brothers growing up. were referred to as the three Cs Cleghorne, Custer, Cross (aka Three Musketeers) -Their Motto one for all and all for one. He married Roselie (Smith) Croley on 27, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by the Honorable Reverend Henry Brown. His favorite memory about his wife is the day he met her. He and his brother Marvin were driving up Ward Street in Cincinnati OH and spotted his bride to be, walking up the street with Carla (eldest daughter) in tow. His brother spotted her first and commented about her beauty when he saw her it was love at first sight and he jumped out of the car and ran to meet her. Mom said he was chasing her for sure. He left school early and joined the Army on 21, 1950 and was honorably discharged 31st 1967. He was a boxer in the U.S. Army, boxing was his favorite all time sport, he also enjoyed basketball, San Antonio Spurs and football. His Army buddy was Phil Nickleberry and best friend was Bob Reid, whom he worked with at Ford Motor . 41 years of dedicated service, he retired on 1, 2000. He and his wife relocated to Bulverde, Texas and then to Tomball, Texas to be closer his children. He stayed active by working land. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, shooting his rifle, and sitting outside in the warm sun listening to his Do-whop music and reading the bible. His favorite color was blue and he loved cars. His community involvement includes a member of the UAW and adding to the population. He went home to be with the Lord on 18, 2015. He passed away at The Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, Texas. He fought a brave battle against cancer, cardiac issues and ultimately lost his battle due to severe anemia. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 52 years, Roselie Cross; eight Children: Phillip K. Croley, Carla M. Croley, Randy G. Croley, Chris V. Cross, Jr., Angela Y. Nettles, Lanore S. Cross, Marcus T. Cross & Rodney S. Cross; 19 Grandchildren: Arica Adams, Andre Billings, Randy Croley, DeShaun Billings, Curtis Cross, Brandi Crowley, Antoine Brown, Brittany Haswell, Lionel Nettles Jr., Jordan Cross, Calea Cross, Christina Cross, Christopher Nettles, Jazmin Nettles, Christian Cross, Lexi McCann, Morgan Cross, Trinity Cross, Kingston Cross; 14 Great Grandchildren (with one more on the way). He was an extraordinary caring man, loved by all who met him. He adored his wife and loved his family. A man of his word, his motto was do what you say. His yes was his yes and no was his no. A provider and a protector; working seven days a week to care for his family; teaching his children honesty, trust, respect, responsibility, and hard work. He always took time to show and share his love. He was brave and strong. |

Obituary: Charles Clinton Papa Charlie Cross, son of William Preston Cross and Ella Edna (Stillwell) Cross was born 28, 1943 in Soper, OK. Our loving husband, father, brother and best friend went home to be with the Lord on 8, 2016 at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. Charlie married Faye Vickers on 8, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV. made their home in Pampa, TX where he was employed as an oil field fractionator operator for Getty and Texaco. In 1997, Charlie and Faye relocated to Granbury, TX, where he returned to work as a carpenter for Ron Anderson. Those who knew his talent as a woodworker would understand when it was said here wasn anything Charlie couldn do with a hammer, nails and a piece of wood. Charlie served as an usher at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, TX. He was a God driven man with many admirable qualities. He was never called upon that he didn drop everything to offer his assistance to those in need. Charlie touched so many lives and it was a true blessing to have been a part of his life here on earth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Faye; two sons, Ty Cross and wife, and family of White Dear, TX, Lance Cross and wife, Jodie and family of Pampa, TX and daughter, Melody Kelley of Granbury, TX and family; two brothers, A.L. Obituary: Cecelia Ruth Cross passed away 3, 2015. She was born in Gainesville, Texas on 29, 1953 to Johnny Buell Hall and Frances Loving Hall. Cecelias father was in the military and when she was in elementary her family moved to Grand Prairie. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1972. She was a friendly woman who enjoyed laughing and was always smiling. Cecelia worked: 22 years at Marcias Beauty Salon as a stylist, 10 years at La Petite Academy as a director, 13 years at Patterson Elementary as a secretary and 12 years at Albertsons. Many of her jobs she did at the same time. Cecelia enjoyed gardening, styling hair and hanging out with her friends. She loved the work she did with the schools and often cooked for the teachers. She was a fan of Facebook because it gave her a chance to reconnect with friends from Grand Prairie. Cecelia is preceded in death by her mother Frances Loving Hall. She is survived by her father Johnny Buell Hall and his wife Lawanna; children: Rene Jensen and her husband Eric, Ryan Phelps, Robert Cross; grandchildren: Hannah Jensen, Jackson Jensen; siblings: Johnny Hall and his wife Melissa, Jacky Hall and his wife Lee Ann. |
