Obituary: Frank Cristan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His eternal soul was set free from this world on the morning of May 3, 2007. He was born to Cleofas and Higinia Cristan on 6, 1935 and raised in the small South Texas town of Mirando City. There he grew to love the town and the people who populated the South Texas Chaparral lands. enlisting in the armed services and completing his duty he joined his family that had since moved to San Antonio in the mid 50Âs. There he worked at the family business, CristanÂs Grocery, as a butcher in the market. his marriage to Emma they decided to go on their own and founded CristanÂs Tacos Restaurant in 1966 and settled into the business that still exists today 41 years later. Known to many friends and customers as ÂEl PrimoÂ, a nickname given to him because he considered everyone his friend and Âcousin under the skinÂ. With his easygoing and unselfish personality he quickly made friends wherever he was. Frank was a simple man who loved life, his family and his work.He always took time to enjoy his family and his hobbies. He loved to travel, collect antiques of all kinds, he loved the outdoors, and always reminded us to eat a good meal every day because  hatÂs all that you e taking with you. He never lost his love for the small town where he grew up, returning there frequently over his lifetime to catch up with old friends and family and to comb the Chaparral for those darn arrowheads that were so elusive. His love for antiques would lead folks who visited his home to comment that it Âlooked like a museum in there. Blessed with a great sense of humor he always had a good story to tell, never at a loss for words. Frank is preceded in death by his father, Cleofas and mother, Higinia; brother, Pedro. He is survived and celebrated by wife, Emma; sons, Frank Jr. and Bruno and wife, Grace; grandchildren, Gabriella Nicole, Francisco Sebastian III and Nicholas Damian. He is also survived by his brother, David Cristan; sisters, Elvia Garcia, Rosa Linan, Rosario Canales and Lucy Cristan; numerous nieces and nephews and their families. |

Obituary: William Everett Bill Crist died peacefully on 16, 2015. Bill was born on 20, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Jacob L. Crist and Edna Hale Crist. Bill was married to Rita Leonard. The two of them were neighbors and met as a teenagers. enjoyed 56 years of marriage together. have two surviving sons; William Jr. and Daniel. Also surviving are grandchildren Billy III and twin girls Brittany and Casey. In his early years, Bill worked at a bakery in Indianapolis with his mother where his passion for bakery included the creation of decorative roses. The Crists then owned a bakery in Washington D.C. and they supplied baked goods to the Kennedy White House. Bill was an avid golfer and also enjoyed watching car racing. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM 22, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano. Following the Mass, Bills cremated remains will be inurned in the church columbarium. |

A mother, wife, sister, friend, work mom and grandma. She was everything to everyone and never asked for anything in return except a little bit of time and a lot of love. She was a force of nature, leaving in her wake not disaster, but order and love. Everyone, no matter how old they were or how she knew them, called her mom, Mama, Work Mom, Momma Vick. From card and board games, to fireworks and Sardines, to camping and fishing, she was up for anything. She was just as likely to sing carols with us in the middle of as she was to belt out the Eagles and Eve 6 at the dinner table during poker.Mom was only 5-foot-2, but to everyone she touched, she was 200 feet tall. No matter what you needed, what question you had, she was smarter than the rest of us, but more than that she was wise and understanding and kind - no question or discussion was off-limits. She was our rock, our protector, our guide, our confidante, our sounding board. She was our superhero.But she was also our best friend. She was the one who would read all the same books as us just to give everyone something to talk about. The one who would play endless hours of Marco Polo in the pool, Rock Band in the living room and countless others at the table. It didn even have to be a real game - just something to put a smile on everyones face and laughter throughout the house. Even when she was giving you "the look," you knew it would be a smile or laugh if you just gave her a minute or two.Our house followed moms open-door policy. She would accept anyone with open arms, a smile and a plate of food. She smiled and the room lit up. She laughed and everyone laughed with her. And if she was here, she would look at us, give us a hug, tell us, "Get over it!" and bust out the games.We e here, all of us, husband and children, grandkids and friends, tag-alongs and animals. Our hearts ache, but we know we can make it because she would want it so. Hope for tomorrow, strength for today and the belief that we can survive as long as we have our circle of love. |
