Obituary: It was the happiest moment in the lives of Danny or D Boys parents when he was born. Danny M. Crayton was born to the union of Mr. Henry Crayton, Sr. and Mrs. Tenneh Koroma Crayton on 13, 1992 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. To his parents, Danny was a lovely child from infant to two years old. When Danny started to talk, he was always excited to call his mother, mommy. Between the ages of one and two Danny could talk. He could even count from one to ten but based on the lead of his parents, of-course. Sadly, when Danny reached two and a half years old his life began to change slowly before his parents' eyes. Danny started to move his head back and forth repeatedly. It was a sign that the life of this charming and talkative kid who loved calling his mother, mommy was deteriorating. At this point his parents began to seek for answers to Dannys problem. reached out to various medical experts for answers like any loving parents would do to resolve crisis in their child's life. As they constantly sought help without any clear diagnosis, at age five Danny was finally diagnosed with autism. From that point, Mr. Crayton began to travel with Danny to England for further medical opinions. At one time, he even left Danny in England with his (Danny) grandaunt to live there for a while because he wanted to see whether Danny situation could be reversed, but to no avail. Finally, both parents decided to bring Danny back to the States because they were uncomfortable with him being away from home. took the responsible to care for Danny and later enrolled him into the Special Education Program in their area - in the HEB School District. Danny remained in the Special Ed Program until he graduated from Trinity High School. Fortunately for Mr. and Mrs. Crayton, Danny's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mamanyon Koroma was living with them. She actually lived with them since Danny was eight months old and still does today. Mrs. Koroma was a tremendous help in helping to raise and care for Danny and we as family appreciate her greatly. Thank you, Grandma Mamanyon. twenty-one years of hoping that one day Danny would overcome his struggle with autism; on 21, 2013 about 8:45 A.M. his (Danny) grandmother, Mrs. Koroma went to wake him up for breakfast as she normally did and found him unresponsive. She called his parents who were preparing to go to a funeral to check on him but Danny remained unresponsive as they too tried to wake him up. His dad performed CPR but to no avail. The paramedics were called but upon arrival they pronounced Danny dead or as we say, Danny went home to be with the Lord. Danny is survived by his father Henry Crayton, Sr., mother, Tenneh Crayton, grandmother, Mamanyon Koroma, one sister, Jyarvo Crayton, five brothers: Alan Crayton, John Crayton, Nini Crayton, Franklin Crayton, and Henry Crayton, Jr., and two foster brothers, Aloysius Crayton and Antonio Crayton. Danny also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We are sure that Danny died without committing sin against anyone and is now in heaven with the Lord. Surely, Danny M. Crayton will be missed by all of us. |

Obituary: Austin lost an authentic Texas icon on , 21, 2012, when Shirley Harris Craycroft of Lakeway passed away at the age of 80. Shirley was born on 28, 1931, in New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Frank Lee Harris and Mona Christine Harris. She is survived by her brother, Frank Lee Harris, Jr. and his wife Ann Harris of Sherman; children Pete Craycroft and his wife Karen Craycroft of Cedar Park, Richard Craycroft and his wife Robin LeTourneau of Austin, Mona Craycroft Wilson and her husband Tim Wilson of Dallas, and Andrew Craycroft and his wife Trina Craycroft of Gig Harbor, Washington, as well as her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Danner Craycroft of Austin. She has 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. attending both Texas Tech and the University of Texas, Shirley married Jack Craycroft and raised her family in Dallas before moving to Lakeway in 1992. Shirley was unforgettable not just for her physical challenges and fashionable outfits, but also because of her ability to make a total stranger feel like her long-lost best friend. She took in dozens of people over the years, providing a home, friendship, and life wisdom. A lifetime Longhorn fan, she held season tickets to UT football and baseball games, and recovered from a year of being homebound in time to attend all the home football games during the recently completed 2011 season. Her favorite play before this past season was the sideways pass for a two-yard gain on third-and-12 (just kidding). She was on hand at the Cotton Bowl when Texas beat Navy for the 1963 National Championship, and again when the Horns defeated Notre Dame for the 1969 title. She provided a home for 21 years for an ornery female Siamese cat named James Street. Suffering from a lifetime of severe scoliosis, Shirley contracted lupus at age 35, which led to myriad additional physical maladies. An iron will to live, her unshakeable faith in God, and her great love for her family and friends saw her through for another 45 years of fierce independence. Well-known around Lakeway, Shirley was a long-time member of Emmaus Catholic Church, where she volunteered as a receptionist, and was active in her book club. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Shirleys wonderful neighbors who were always there for her through the years. Special thanks also go to her small army of doctors, the friends and staff in the south wheelchair section at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, and all the friends who called or stopped by to visit during her last week of life. The family will receive visitors on , 25, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks , 6300 W. William Cannon Dr. from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a prayer vigil from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on , 26, at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing in Lakeway with Father Samuel L. Hose, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Wounded Warriors, two of Shirleys favorite charities. |
