Obituary: FORT WORTH -- Mary M. Cress Flinn Cranmer of Fort Worth, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away , Nov. 28, 2009. : 10:30 a.m. , Dec. 4, at Handley United Methodist Church, 2929 Forest, Fort Worth. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill in Fort Worth. Memorials: May be sent to CASA of Oklahoma , Inc. 5905 N. Classen Ct., Suite 302, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73118, www.okcountycasa.org; or the American Heart Association through https://donate.americanheart.org, and find a personalized memorial for Cranmer. Born Oct. 2, 1923, in Ellis , Kan., on the family farm near Hays, Kan., she was the sixth child of nine born to Hugh Irving Cress and Pearl Simpson Cress. She was the last surviving member of her family. She was a strong-willed person who overcame a rattlesnake bite at age 11, and the Great Depression of the 1930s. She was an avid reader and loved spelling bees and studying. It was her dream to be a nurse, so she attended Fort Hays State majoring in pre-nursing classes. She married Milford R. Flinn on Feb. 26, 1943, while in college. She and Mil moved to Borger in 1943 upon his employment with Phillips Petroleum . soon moved to Phillips, where they raised six children. There they led an active lifestyle with their childrens activities and many friends. She was president of the League of Women Voters, the Garden Club, Mothers Club and many other organizations over the years. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse by attending Northwest Texas Hospital School of in Amarillo. While driving 100 miles per day to and from Phillips, she admitted that she studied while on the road since there was not much traffic at 5 a.m. She took the state exams, and became a registered nurse in 1964 at the age of 40. The family moved to Bartlesville, Okla., where she worked as a nurse for 25 years, and retired from Jane Phillips Episcopal Hospital in 1989. While in Bartlesville, she established and ran a Shaklee vitamin store and was president of Pilot Club. In 2001, she moved to Fort Worth, and lived at Town Village Ridgmar active senior living community where she was the unofficial greeter for new residents. She loved to swim, and was involved in many activities during most of her eight years there. She loved to make people laugh, and was a true caregiver. She was predeceased by husbands, Milford R. Flinn and Clinton S. Cranmer; and son-in-law, John Blythe. Survivors: Daughters, Anita Cross and husband, Bill, of Fort Worth, Neva Thomas and husband, Edwin, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Sharon Blythe of Austin; sons, Ronald and wife, Patricia, Donald and wife, Terry, and Robert and wife, Judy; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many friends. Obituary: John Clyde Crank, was born 19, 1949 in Longview, TX to John Samuel and Sue Sutton Crank, and passed away 6, 2010, in Dallas TX. He is survived by his son, John Clyde Crank II, (known as John II); daughter, Medley Jane Crank; his mother, Sue Sutton Crank; two brothers, Terry Sutton Crank and wife Cathy, and Robert Stuart Crank, all of Longview, TX; nephews Spec. Charles Samuel Crank and wife Laura of Fort Polk, LA, James Garland and wife Abnet, John Russell, and Jay Harrison Hurst, all of Houston, TX; niece, Claudia Sutton Crank of Longview, TX ; great nieces Raynan Crank of Fort Polk, LA, Emily Abnet Hurst of Houston, TX, and his great nephew; Kael Juan of Houston, TX. being raised in Longview, John graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, and then moved to Dallas where he was employed by Schneider Burnett, and married the mother of his children, Grace Anne Hurst Crank. He later retired as Vice President of Southwest Securities. Johns main love, besides his family, was fishing at the Channels Ranch in Ennis, Montana. He was a member of University Park United Methodist Church, Dallas Gun Club, and a former board member of The Shelton School. A memorial service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Obituary: Services for Gratia Jean Ferguson Crank, 57, of Grand Prairie will be 10:00 am , 21 at Moore . The family invites friends to stay for refreshments and a time of rembrances following the service in the Moore Reception Hall. Mrs. Crank passed away on , 15, 2014. Gratia was born on , 21, 1957 in Kingsville, Texas as the seventh of eight children to the late Addison "Speedy" Ferguson and Edna Dailey Ferguson. She attended H. M. King High School after which she went on to work in various industries including child care, insurance and retail. In 2001 she married Arthur "Art" Crank on 16. Until her death, they lived together in Grand Prairie, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. A beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Gratia dedicated her life to serving others. She was instrumental in the upbringing of her nieces and nephews, her step-children and step-grandchildren and family friends too numerous to count. For the past seven years, Gratia took care of and was still caring for her mother, Edna, who became seriously ill in 2007. True to her nurturing spirit, Gratia helped nurse her mother back to health. Even in her last moments on earth, her concern was for the well-being of her mother and her husband. Gratia is survived by her husband, Art; her step-children, Kimberly, , Edward Allen, Arthur Jr., Brandie andPatricia; a host of step-grandchildren including Isaiah and Jeremiah; her five brothers: Samuel, Ralph, Charles, Emmett, and Reginald; her two sisters: Jacqueline and Deborah and her mother, Edna.
