Obituary: Warren Hudspeth Crain, born 7, 1921 died 4, 2013 at the age of 91 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1939 and the University of Texas in Austin in 1948 with a B.S. degree in Pharmacy. spending three years in the U.S. Army, he went to work at the Crain and Palmer Pharmacy in San Antonio. In later years he bought out Mr. Elmer Palmers interest in the pharmacy so that he and his dad were co-owners. He had to quit the pharmacy business in 1995 due to health reasons. Warren was a very fine athlete in his younger days, excelling in golf, tennis, softball and basketball. He won the coveted award as the Best Intramural Athlete at U.T. his senior year. He was a member of the Texas Lodge #8 of the Scottish Rite and the Alzafar Shrine. He was a past president of the San Antonio Philatelic Assn and a past vice president of the Texas Philatelic Assn. A stamp collector most of his life, he was the only nationally accredited philatelic judge of stamp exhibits at stamp shows from San Antonio. An active stamp exhibitor at stamp shows in the 1960s and 1970s, he won the Grand Award at the state convention in 1964 with a Hawaii exhibit and the Grand Award at the state convention in 1966 with a Zeppelin exhibit. He was especially proud of the large silver award he received at the International Show in Philadelphia in 1976 with his Hawaii exhibit. He wrote many stamp articles for Texas Philatex, the house organ of the Texas Philatelic Assn. He received the Distinguished Philatelic Texas Award in 1980, the highest honor the Texas Philatelic Assn. can bestow on a member. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jo Hazel Crain; his son, Warren H. Crain, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Levi Crain; sister, Janell Crain Cole; and brother, Kellam. Obituary: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Walter Robert Crain, known as "Butch" to his friends and family ,on 7th, 2017, he was 77 years old.
Butch was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on 10/29/1939 and raised in Dallas, TX. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1957 where he was Co-Captain of the Highland Park Baseball Team that went to state in 1957. His many Baseball honors include, All State in 1956, First Team All District 1955, 1956, 1957 and All American Greater Dallas his junior and senior years. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin where he played baseball for the Texas Longhorns and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
He was president of Two States Oil which was founded by his father, John Calvin Crain.
He raised four daughters and spent so much of his time involved in their activities and also loved fishing, hunting, and camping with his friends and had many great memories at Possum Kingdom Lake!
For many of us who have known him, we felt very blessed to have him in our lives and he left a legacy. He was our rock and hero and we will love him forever. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Henderson Crain of 52 years, his daughters, Cheryl Crain Johnson of Coppell, Monette Crain of Dallas, Collette Crain Wolff of University Park and Ashley Crain of Dallas, his grandchildren Samantha Crain Johnson of Austin and Tripp and Garrison Wolff of University Park, and two surviving brothers, Michael Crain of University Park and Charles Crain of Austin, TX. Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Piggott, father, John Calvin Crain Sr., sister, Patricia Crain and brother, John Calvin Crain Jr..
A memorial in celebration of Butch's life will be held on , 12 at 1:30pm, Highland Park Presbyterian Church located at 3821 University Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75205.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Autism Speaks, Inc.

Obituary: Wally Crain passed into the presence of His Lord at 10:00 A. M. , 21, 2007. He was born to Bert and Morris Wasserman in Dallas, Texas on 24, 1919. He was adopted by Bowdon Crain when his mother remarried. He attended Sunset High School and Graduated from Texas A & M in 1941, enlisting in the Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant. Soon after marrying Nell Grace Richardson of San Antonio, he served during World War II as a pilot.
the war, he resided in San Antonio while continuing to serve in the Air Force Reserves until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel. Wally had many jobs including working for the IRS, but loved his work in sales. As with all things in his life, he saw sales as a service and put others needs first. Among many job accomplishments, he worked as CEO of Electrical Distributing with partner Leonard Schwartz, where he excelled in appliance sales and originated the concept of customized lighting working with many local builders.
His first love, besides his family, was flying and he spent the happiest times in the Flying Ten, working with NAYAK Aviation, and in private flying instruction. He was devoted to the community and a member of many organizations, including the B & P Club, the Masons, the Bexar Kiwanas, and the Aggie Club. A devoted member of St. MarkÂs Episcopal Church since the early 50Âs, he taught school, was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Stephens Minister, graduated from the EFM course, was a chalice bearer, ÂPancake ChefÂ, and an usher.
He also loved football, hunting, and eating at SammyÂs. He is survived by his wife Nell of 68 years, a daughter, Cheryl Crain Sanders, a Grandson, Patrick Sanders, a great grand-daughter, Abigail Sanders; sister Virginia Turner and brother-in-law, Hal Turner; nieces, Peggy Sterling and Cindy Shipley; cousins, Pat Reeves, Jess Reeves, and Linda Goodman, great nieces and nephews, Lauren and Michael Sterling and Joshua and Jessica Shipley and numerous cousins the Crain family. Wally was an example of a complete gentleman and loved his family, his country and his God.

Randy was Born 5, 1950 in Dallas, TX
to the late Mr.Willis and
Milli Crain. He married Sherida Crain on 27th, 1969 in Lubbock. both attended Monterey High School and Texas Tech.they were high school sweethearts and just had just celebrated their 43 year wedding anniver-sary.

Randy worked in the Pharma-ceutical business for over 30 years, 23 of those years with Morris & Dickson & Co as a West Texas sales representa-tive. He enjoyed the many friendships he created with customers throughout West Texas. Randy had tremendous love for his family, friends and his football team..The Uni-versity of Texas Longhorns!!!

He leaves to cherish his memory his Loving wife Sher-ida; daughter Kynda and hus-band Daren Fleming of Austin, TX,Son Reagan Crain of Lub-bock; grandchildren, Evan Fleming and Carter Crain;sister Jerry and husband Ronnie Beevers of Lubbock; sister in law Kathy and husband David Bailey of Lubbock; he was commonly referred to as "Uncle Randy" by his niece, Dawn Bell and family of Lubbock; Nephews, Derrick Gorny and family of Lubbock, Scott Gorny and family of Dallas and, Carlos Rangel and family of Lubbock.
