Obituary: MICHAEL DAVID COX, age 55, of Cypress, Texas, passed away , 8, 2015. He was born 20, 1960, in Houston, Texas, to Will and Bernice Cox. Michael graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 1979. He started his career as a machinist with Halliburton and became a Quality Control Supervisor with Sunbelt Machine Works and Magnum Precision. Michael enjoyed family, traveling, and long rides on his Harley. He was preceded in death by his father, Will Marion Cox. Obituary: MELVILLE B. "TIM" COX, JR., age 67, of Richmond, Texas, passed away , 2, 2011. He was born 2, 1943, in Washington D.C., to Melville and Anna "Lucille" Conley Cox. Tim attended St. Annes Catholic Elementary School and St. Johns Military Academy High School in Washington D.C. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1969 with a Business Degree in Marketing. Tim also attended Rice University, completing a Management Program in the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Administration. He worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. from 1963 to 1983, working for the CIA and the Securities Exchange Commission. In 1983 he transferred with the SEC to Denver, CO. leaving the SEC in 1988, he joined the private sector working for Integrated Resources in Denver. He then took a position with Charles Schwab in San Francisco, CA, as their Chief Compliance Officer. In 1992, Tim joined AIM Management in Houstonn, as their Chief Compliance Officer. This experience was his most treasured professional position of his career. He loved his work, the founders, and the many peers and employees he had the pleasure and privilege of working with. In 2004, Tim accepted a position with State Street Global Advisors in Boston, MA, where he served as a Principal in their Compliance Department. He remained there until 2007, when he retired and relocated back to the Houston area. In his private life, Tim dedicated his time and love to his wife of forty-five years, Margaret T. "Monie" Cox, and his three children, Jeffrey T. Cox, Cassandra Cox McBryde, and Christopher P. Cox. In 1973, Tim and a handful of friends formed the Potomac Valley Youth Association (PVYA) in Frederick , Brunswick, MD, offering local youth year round sporting activities. He coached approximately thirty-seven seasons of soccer with all three of his children, and was much loved by his teams and parents. He continued his coaching in Denver and Sugar Land until his children were selected to join travel teams. He definitely made a positive impact on his own children and numerous others, always stressing fair play, good citizenship, and academics. Tim was a huge supporter of all things Houston. He loved and supported all the professional sports teams, especially the Texans where he was an original season ticket holder. Tim also supported many Houston area charities, fine arts programs, and museums around the city. Tim was a great supporter of the University of Texas, where he received an award in 2002 for his many years of contributions to their business program. Most importantly, Tim was a generous and creative man, who adored his family, and was held in the highest esteem by his colleagues. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him, and by those whose lives he touched. Tim is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Margaret Tobin "Monie" Cox; his three children, Jeffrey T. Cox, Cassandra Cox McBryde, and Christopher P. Cox and his wife Hillary Voyer Cox; brother, Joseph Winston Cox; sisters, Mary Cox and her husband Arthur, and Elizabeth Cox LaPlante and her husband Steve; brother-in-law, William J. Tobin, III and his wife Marge; grandchildren, Cullen Cox, Connor McBryde, Logan Solio, Jaci Ryann Cox, and Faith, Taylor, and Lane Johnson.; nieces and nephews, Janice, Andy, and Danny Cox, Anna Lucille LaPlante, David LaPlante, Mary Tobin VanHoutan, and Billy, Robert, and Angie Tobin; great-niece, Jessica Cox; and great-great-nieces, Brenna and Riley. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on evening, 9, 2011, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM.
