Obituary: Ina Faye Warren was born on 23, 1931, in Lakeview, Texas and went to Heaven to be with her Jesus and many loved ones on 16, 2010. She was 79 years old. Faye spent the early years of her childhood on a farm in Lakeview with her mother Lindsey Warren and her brother and sisters. On 8, 1946 in Farwell, Texas, Faye married Leslie Ray Copeland. shared 63 years together making homes in California and Colorado but finally settling in Texas. lived in Lubbock for the past 52 years. Faye was a homemaker and stay-at home mother until 1977 when she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. much prayer and study, she received her GED and completed the work necessary to graduate nursing school in 1978 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at Methodist Hospital as a post partum nurse for 16 years retiring in 1994. Faye saw her job as a ministry and was thankful for the opportunity it gave her to touch the lives of countless mothers and babies. Faye was a faithful, dedicated Christian woman who supported the ministries of J. Vernon Magee, Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll and David Jeremiah. Over the years, she served as a GA leader, a School teacher and in WMU. But perhaps her most treasured service was to her family as a prayer warrior and spiritual counselor. For the past 15 years she was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her mother, Lindsey, and her father Jim Warren; her brother, Ralph Warren; her sistersNaomi Warren, Ruth Warren, Ethyl Nelson, Gladys Giles, and Georgia Foster; her son Brad; and one grandchild Mallory. She is survived by two sons, Ted and wife Crystal, Chris and wife , all of Lubbock; a daughter, Darla and husband James Wright of Wichita Falls. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Shellie Smith, Shawna Watts, Misty Hill, Chad Copeland, Jason, Justin and Joshua Wright, Marissa and Madison Copeland; and six great grandchildren, Ashton and Ayden Smith, Kerstan and Brianne Watts, Hunter Hill and Quenton Wright. Visitation will be held , 17, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Resthaven . Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 pm on , 18, 2010 at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Gerlt officiating and Fayes nephew, Bro. James Giles assisting. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Vista Hospice. Obituary: Georgia Copeland, age 82 of Georgetown, Texas formerly of Vernon, Texas, passed away on 25, 2015. She was born 21, 1932 in Megargel, Texas to Lloyd and Freija (Sorenson) Echols. Georgia married Felix Copeland on May 27, 1952. She received her BA degree in education from North Texas in Denton. Georgia was a teacher for Megargel, Seymour, Vernon, and Georgetown ISD before her retirement. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Georgia did not consider her time as a teacher a job but a calling that she was honored to practice. Her mom was a teacher before her, and Georgia passed the desire to teach forward to her daughter Georganna. She was well liked by her students and over the years many maintained contact. In her spare time and retirement years Georgia was an avid reader and amateur writer, enjoyed gardening, volunteering at her church and the local library, and most of all being gran mommy to her grandsons taking them on trips and just spending time with them. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Tiffin House in Georgetown for taking loving care of Georgia in the last few years. Survivors include son, Keith Copeland (Donna) of Houston; son, Kelly Copeland (Valorie) of Belton; daughter, Georganna Silverstone of Georgetown; grandsons, Travis Perthuis (Brittany) of Georgetown, Brett Perthuis of San Antonio, Tye Copeland (Dorothy) of Houston, Greg Deitz (Phyllis) of Station, Chris Deitz of Belton; great grandsons, Cullen Copeland of Houston, Jack Jordan of Georgetown; great granddaughters, Chloe Deitz of Station, Emma Deitz of Station. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Felix Copeland on 30, 1997; son-in-law, Judge Mark Silverstone. Memorial donations may be made in Georgias honor to the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown at 410 E. Obituary: GAY YATES COPELAND Gay Yates Copeland, 94, passed away peacefully , 28th, 2007, at his home in San Antonio, Texas, following a short period of failing health. Born 31, 1912, in San Angelo, Texas, to Kenneth and Bess Yates Copeland, Gay spent most of his childhood on the ranch of his grandparents, Ira G. and Annie S. Yates, for whom the town of Iraan was named and on which the fabulous Yates Oil Field was discovered in 1926. He married Esther Lou ÂEste Hines, of Bronte, Texas, on 9, 1935, and they were rarely apart until her passing last . Initially they ranched near San Antonio and San Angelo. He had learned to fly as a teenager, and he established a flying service at the old San Angelo Airport. He was a charter member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and became a flight instructor for the Civilian Pilot Training Program and the Army Air Corps. He was commissioned directly into the Navy as Lieutenant j.g., leading flight training units at several Naval Air Stations across the U.S., and attaining the rank of Commander. the war he brought his family to his ranch in Sutton and Schleicher Counties, later expanding operations to Coke, Duval, and Bexar Counties and Springfield, Missouri. He helped organize the National Cutting Horse Association, and, as one of its early presidents, traveled the country visiting rodeos and stock shows to promote currying horse contests as a popular competition event. During this period he became a Life Member of the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving as a Director from 1953 to 1968, chairing the horse show committee, and assisting the entertainment committee in recruiting stage and screen personalities to appear at performances. He served as a member of the vestry and building committee of SonoraÂs St. JohnÂs Episcopal Church, and as a member of the Diocesan Council Diocese of West Texas. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest, and helped establish and develop the diocesan camp and conference centers. One of his greatest pleasures was to fly Bishops Everett Jones and Earl Dicus on their diocesan business. While SonoraÂs mayor, he was instrumental in the establishment of the townÂs airport, where he operated a flying service in conjunction with his Piper and Beechcraft dealership in San Angelo. On a larger scene, he was an early member of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association TIPRO; he helped found the National Association of Royalty Owners NARO as a vehicle for its thousands of members to combat the punitive windfall profits tax, and more recently fostered its Texas subsidiary. leaving ranch life in the 1960s, he lived in the Rockport, Texas, area for many years, becoming well known as a yacht broker. He and Este traveled extensively in their small planes, boats, and motor homes; he served several terms as President of the Bluebirders RV Association. In their later years, he and Este returned to San Antonio to be near their three children. He is survived by his children, Ralph Copeland of McCamey, Texas; Richard Copeland and his wife Andrea of Georgetown, Texas; and Gayle Copeland and her husband Jim Jacobs of San Antonio; grandsons Hill Copeland and his wife Leslie of Viroqua, Wisconson; Chris Copeland and his wife Stephanie of Greenwich, New York; granddaughter Tracy Atchley Pentland of San Antonio, who was his companion in his last years; and ten great-grandchildren. The family is particularly grateful to his long-time special assistant Cindy Frazier and devoted caregivers, especially his friend and companion Harriet Walker. |
