Obituary: Adler Bede Constant, 65, was born on 22, 1952. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA to Percy and Dorothy Constant. He was the oldest of 5 children --- Adler, Terry, Rickie, Jim, and Bob. lived in Vacherie and he graduated in 1970 from St. James High School. He held many different jobs throughout high school such as a life guard, stock boy at Baudoins IGA, and a sugar cane truck driver. He attended Nicholls State for 1 year and then began working at McDermott Shipyard in Morgan City. He also worked off-shore for La-Tex Electric for a couple of years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen Terrebonne Constant. met at the Inn in Thibodaux and dated for year and was married on 4, 1973. lived in Thibodaux for 28 years before moving to McKinney, TX. In 1976, they welcomed a set of twins --- Jason Paul and Monique Elizabeth. Fourteen months later, they welcomed their 3rd child, Jennifer Ann. Adler worked as an electrician for many years at Kaiser/LaRoche Chemicals in Gramercy, LA. In 2000, he moved to L3 Technologies in McKinney, TX. Moving from south LA to TX was a big adjustment --- especially with the ice storms he encountered within his first week of work in TX. He loved watching his children grow, and he supported them in all of their events and activities, such as boy scouts for Jason and volunteering for band events for Monique and Jennifer. He was thrilled to walk his daughters down the aisle, Monique in 1999 to Joe Wilson and Jennifer in 2001 to Mark Delcambre. He also was thrilled to see Jason settle down in 2016 and marry Faith Roper. In 2005, he welcomed his first grandchildren and became known as Pepere. His first granddaughters, Lainie and Zoe were born 6 months apart that year. Having the first grandkids reignited his love of photography, and he purchased his first digital camera. In 2008, he welcomed Miles and in 2014, Evan, with whom he loves watching baseball, both at the ballparks and watching on TV. Adler has always loved to travel, taking his children and grandchildren on many adventures across the country. Some of the highlights of the adventures included Japan, Hawaii, Washington DC, Disney World, Montana, Atlanta, cruises to the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, and even a hot-air balloon ride in Fredericksburg. Then, in 2015, we welcomed the RV Steve into the family. This addition to the family was Adlers dream for his retirement. He and Kathleen started traveling to state parks within 6 different states, and he loved every minute. Adler loved trying new hobbies. He started woodworking by watching you tube and made rosaries for many years and shipped them to the missions. His family would like to thank the following for their outstanding services, the doctors and staff at Rena Tarbet Cancer , the hospital, doctors, and staff of Medical McKinney, New Century Hospice, and friends and family for their support during these last 7 months. A visitation will be held on , 16, 2017 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church from 8:30 AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph cemetery. In addition, a celebration of his life will be held at Stonebriar in Frisco, TX on , 25 from 2:00-4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Kidney Cancer Association. |
