Obituary: Born 28, 1945 in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Marvis Colburn (MC) Colquette received ultimate healing on 16, 2014 at his home in Forney, Texas at the age of 69. With only an 11th grade education, MC showed what could be done with grit and determination to succeed in every job he worked. From the cotton fields of Louisiana, the Louisiana and Texas Army National Guard, Sears, Ruffin Pre-Fab, and his own company, Metal Tex Systems, MC proved that with hard work you can accomplish anything. To know him was to love him. To be loved by him was something special. MC would do anything for anyone in need, and would help anyone who wanted to better themselves. He dearly loved his family and any time he could be with them. He was a man of character and integrity and demanded the same from those around him. He will be missed dearly but he has left a wonderful legacy for all of us to follow. The bar has been set high. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Schlebach Colquette; his children, Justin Colquette and wife Karen of Wortham TX; Steven Colquette and wife of Forney, TX; his grandchildren Dylan, Devon, and Ana Colquette of Wortham, TX; his brothers Jerrell & Charlotte Colquette of Monroe, LA and Karon Colquette of Oak Grove, LA; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law a Cascio of Forney, TX; Peggy Schlebach of Forney, TX; Sidney & Beverly Schlebach of Forney, TX; Kenneth & Lisa Schlebach of Gun Barrell City, TX; Robert & Kathy Schlebach of Forney, TX; and Anthony & Kimberly Schlebach of Forney, TX as well as several nieces, nephews, and loved ones too numerous to count. MC was proceeded in death by his parents Greene and Gertrude Colquette; brother, Newell Colquette; Sisters, Mavis Day and Flois Gore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm, , 19, 2014 at St. Martin Catholic Church, 9470 Road 213, Forney, TX 75126 with Msgr. Glenn Gardener as celebrant. Obituary: Tomas Francisco Colorado Sr. Tomas Colorado, 73, passed away on 31, 2016 in Cypress, TX from complications related to pulmonary fibrosis. Tomas lived a life based on integrity, responsibility, hard work, the importance of family and believing in oneself. Tomas was born on 4, 1943 in Brownsville, TX to parents Tomas and Marta (Delgado) Colorado. Spanish was his first language and he would tell stories of how kids would get into trouble at elementary school for not speaking English. graduating high school, he joined the Air Force, which took him to other states such as Washington, South Carolina, Mississippi and New Mexico and overseas to Panama and southeast Asia. During that time, he married Blanche Roberts in 1963, with whom he had 3 children. He worked at Boeing after leaving the military but soon returned to Texas, to the Houston area in 1968. Tomas was an industrious and hardworking man, working mostly in the oil and gas manufacturing industry. He started his career working in machine shops, then worked his way into an office position focused on analytics, pricing industrial equipment and domestic and international sales. Among the companies he worked for were Cameron Iron Works, National Oilwell, Kvaerner Oil and most recently, GE Oil and Gas. He often worked second jobs to support his family, from selling knives door to door, working retail in the evenings and for a time, running his own office cleaning business. No job was beneath him and regardless of whether it required accurately calculating the cost of an offshore oil rig or helping a customer pick out the right pair of shoes, he believed in putting in all his effort to get the job done right. He succeeded at taking on big challenges. He was incredibly resourceful and believed in his ability to figure out new things. For example, he personally built a significant addition onto his first house. This effort included researching city codes and requirements (this was before the internet, requiring trips to city hall), drawing up architectural plans, getting city approval, and ultimately doing the manual labor. He once completely rebuilt the engine to one his cars. wards it didn run quite as fast as it used to do. But run it did. He decided to get his bachelors degree while in his 40s and working full time. He earned his BBA in finance from the University of Houston when he was 51 years old. He was married to his first wife for thirty years. He had a second opportunity at happiness when he met his second wife, Evelina Stenroos (Salas.) She was an avid runner, an activity he had recently taken up that became a passion they shared together. completed 5 marathons together before knee problems caused him to hang up his running shoes. Finally, Tomas was not all work and no play. He had an exceptional sense of humor and fun. He liked to make jokes and play pranks on his family and friends. He loved to dance and on many nights, he and Evelina would go out dancing. He enjoyed going to the rodeo each year and was an avid sports fan, regularly rooting for the Oilers, then the Texans and the Astros. Tomas was preceded in death by his brother Ramone Colorado and his sisters Amelia Garcia, Lolita Cantu and Mary Zarate. He is survived by his wife Evelina, his brothers, Jesus Colorado, Juan Colorado and Carlos P. Colorado as well as three children, Lucinda Colorado Daneshmand, Tamara Colorado, Tomas Colorado Jr and a stepson, Robert Stenroos. He has seven grandchildren, Anthony Colorado, Jonathan Cartmill, Bianca Daneshmand, Kiana Daneshmand, Madison Colorado, Taylor Colorado and Rainen Stenroos, and two great grandchildren, Trinity Colorado and Bruce Colorado. Also surviving him are his brother-in-law Genaro Garcia and sisters-in-law Palmira Colorado, Rosie Colorado and Sylvia Colorado. Visitation is at Brookside at 9149 Highway 6 North is on 5 from 5-8:00 with a vigil at 7:00. A service will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church at noon on 6 at 11507 Huffmeister Rd with a gravesite burial at Houston National , 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive thereafter. Everyone is welcome to attend a reception back at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church immediately after the burial. |

Obituary: Victor Louis Colonnetta passed away on , 16, 2015 at the age of nearly 82. Like many Italians, his parents, Alice Pontello Colonnetta and Anthony Colonnetta, were a team their entire professional lives. Victor was seven years old when his parents sold their laundry and linen supply businesses in Houston and moved to Austin to continue in those businesses. There were two moves of that business before land was purchased and two side by side buildings were built housing Anthonys Laundry and Naus Pharmacy. Ownership has changed through the years but the names have remained on the corner of Twelfth and West Lynn as the cornerstone of a growing commitment to the Enfield, Clarksville, West Lynn and surrounding borders. With Victors leadership and, now his son Michaels, the development of properties has spread throughout the Austin area. Victors generation grew up in the environment where a hand shake sealed a bargain and your word was the seal that closed many deals. Throughout his life this was his abiding philosophy. During his ownership of an Austin Travel Agency he developed innovations to help state agencies provide a better way of the reimbursement of personal funds when traveling on state business. Between the Texas Education Agency and his travel agency he was able to coordinate teachers and students throughout the state that were competing on the National level to fly and be housed in such a way to allow the teachers to just concentrate on their students and not worry about how they would get there and back. Moving temporarily to Durango, Colorado (which turned into thirteen years) to recover from heart problems he never the less set about to carve his nitch in a small community whose permanent residents did not like Texans nor Californians invading their paradise, so he made sure that before he even went to his ranch that he had changed his Texas plates to Colorado ones He never lost his wang nor his love of his home state but it was a hard choice to return to Texas to take care of business. While there he became a member of the Colorado Mounted Rangers who once were like our Texas Rangers and hunted down the bad guys. were de-commissioned but remain under the umbrella of the Sheriffs department and are called out on rescue missions today. Horses were the mode of travel in the mountains and you had to be ready within 30 minutes with horse, trailer and provision to be self-sustaining for 24 hours. By the time he returned to Austin he was the Commanding officer (Colonel Elect) of the four troops throughout Colorado. One of Victors greatest joy was in helping his city grandchildren learn to ski, ride horses, camp in the mountains, (wash dishes) explore the Indian life style, build tree houses using forty pounds of nails and help them to become independent young men and women. Inside his briefcase when he was working was the quote Selling begins when you hear No. He applied that to every aspect of his life. Victor is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Alice Pontello Colonnetta, a great grandchild Abigale Warren, and his first wife Betty Colonnetta. He is survived by his wife, Marie Jo Bailey Colonnetta, Children: Son Michael Colonnetta and wife, Becky and daughter: Cathy Colonnetta Sandoval of Buda Texas. Daughters: Debbie Colonnetta Magin and husband Donny, Susan Colonnetta Castillo and husband Ronny of Seguin, Texas. He is also survived by a Son: Larry Blalock and wife Donna of Orange, Texas, Daughters: Jackie Blalock Contos, Janet Blalock Griffith and husband Paul, Terri Blalock Bouwmans and husband Jimmy of Austin, Texas and daughter Melissa Blalock Briggs and husband J. L. of Llano, Texas. To cherish his legacy and memory he is survived by twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Victor gave of himself to people and projects with enthusiasm that never wavered. He loved the challenge to find the proper outcome in everything he did. When Promise Keepers was an active organization it fortified his objective to be a better man and father. He was very active in all aspects of the Catholic Church until his health prevented his participation. He is a past officer of the Knights of Columbus, Andice Mens Prayer group, and served on the altar until he was unable to navigate the steps after a stroke. In charity giving he put his money where his mouth was. He loved God first, his family second (as God requires) and his church. His family would like to thank Dr. Goersh, Dr. Rallingson and Dr. Caruso of the Veterans Administration health system for diligently trying to fulfill his health needs and also Dr. Jennifer Clark of the Scott & White system for her unyielding objective to give his as much quality of life she could. Our special thanks to the staff at AGE of Central Texas adult day care of Round Rock, especially Lauren and Marilyn who fed, entertained loved him unconditionally. Thanks to all of those listed above who helped his family keep him a longer span of time. You will forever be in our prayers. Visitation will be at Cook-Walden Davis in Georgetown, Texas on , 19, 2015 at 6:00 pm. Rosary services will commence at 7:00pm. The Mass will be a Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Andice, Texas at 1:00 pm on , 20, 2015. Burial will be at Assumption directly after the Mass. by Cook-Walden Davis , 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564. |
