Obituary: Margie Nell Allen Coleman passed away on , 18, 2010. Margie was born 1, 1932, to Joe and Sadie Allen in Smithville, Texas. She attended public school in Smithville, graduating from Smithville High School in 1951. graduation, she moved to Austin and attended Durhams Business , completing their Executive Secretarial Course. While attending school, she worked part time for Harry Kelly Motors, a car dealership. When the dealership sold, she went to work for the State Department of , Hospital Survey and Construction Division. From there, she was transferred to Maternal and Child Division, and ended up in the Crippled Childrens Services program. In 1961, she moved with her family to Lufkin, Texas, and went to work for the Highway Department, where she became secretary to the District Engineer. She moved back to Austin in 1966, and went back to work for the State Department, Division of Crippled Childrens Services. The Supplemental Security Income Disabled Childrens Program was implemented during her tenure, and she was instrumental in getting that program set up. She retired in 1987, with a total of 32 years of state employment. retiring from the Department, she worked for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association on a part-time basis for about ten years. Margie was always active in her church. She belonged to Northwest Baptist Church in Austin for many years, and taught seventh and eighth grade girls in School. In 1986, she joined Hyde Park Baptist Church, and was Director of the Excel School Department for many years. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sadie Allen; a brother, Joe Allen, Jr.; her son, Michael Charles Coleman; and her niece, Winona Morgan. Surviving Margie is her daughter-in-law, Carol Coleman; three granddaughters, Heather, Amber, and Tiffany Coleman; two great-grandsons, James Michael Coleman and Kenneth Michael Sievers; three sisters, Selma Elsie DeLoach, Judy Meador Frasier, and Brenda Allen Camp; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Camp. She is also survived by four nieces, Linda Lucksinger, Billie Null, Barbara Garrett, and Shanon Gish; three nephews, Damon Allen, Kenny Camp, and y Camp; seven great-nieces; and twelve great-nephews, as well as numerous great-great-nieces; great-great-nephews; and cousins. Margie leaves many friends behind, and she loved every one of them. Serving as pallbearers will be: Scott Null, Nelson Garrett, Paul Lucksinger, Damon Allen, Tommy Browning, y Camp, Kenny Camp, and Jason Gish. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six oclock in the evening until eight oclock in the evening, on , the 20th of , at Cook-Walden , 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin. The Service is to be conducted at one oclock in the afternoon on , the 21st of in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden . Interment will follow at half past three oclock in the afternoon at Oak Hill in Smithville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margies name to a charity of your choice. Obituary: Margaret Estelle Bohanan Coleman was called to her rest in Jesus on 28th, the day before her 90th birthday at the Scharbauer Cottage at Manor Park in Midland, Texas. Services will held , 2nd at 10 am, Sparkman Services in Richardson, TX. She was born 29th, 1927 in the new Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Clarence Watson Bohanan and Grace Margaret Jones Bohanan. Margaret, known as Martelle to her eight siblings was predeceased by her loving husband Tom in 2011 after 63 years of marriage. Her own mother died at the young age of 42 and her father at 87. She recently lost her brother Bill Bohanan and sister Gladys Arrington. Margaret was a very kind, loving and generous lady. She was a teacher by profession and taught for many years in Dallas, Roswell, NM and Midland. In Midland she taught briefly at Cowden Jr. High and then fifth and sixth grade at Fannin elementary. She enjoyed seeing many of her former students through the years and learning about their lives and families. Margaret is a Christian and was very active in the Lay Witness program, and the r Fort Fellowship Class at First United Methodist Church as well as United Methodist women. She also enjoyed her bridge club for many years. Margaret was active in the women's auxiliary at Manor Park when her mother-in-law was a resident and husband Tom was Chairman of the Board. She did grocery shopping for some of the shut-in residents and would bring them baked goodies. Margaret retired she and Tom enjoyed traveling throughout the world, visiting their lake house at Horseshoe Bay and spending time with their grandkids. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Margaret had a dry sense of humor and would spring it on us when we'd least expect it. She was fun-loving and we are so going to miss her. But we know we will see her again when she rises in glory to meet Jesus in the clouds and we join her there. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and she had a special teaching of it. The Lord truly was her shepherd. She always said "Speak life!", and that always encouraged her kids. Margaret is survived by her three children, daughters Beth Bradley of Arlington, Texas and Kay Grissom and husband Jon of Wichita, Kansas and son Kelly and wife Tina of Midland. She is also survived by her brothers Clarence Watson 'Tom' Bohanan, Jr. and wife Julia of Dallas, Jim Bohanan of Kansas City, MO, David Bohanan and wife Sandy of Dallas, sisters Jane Hunt and husband David and Martha Ray of Grand Prairie, sister-in-law Carolyn Carpenter of Ladera Ranch, CA, eight grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
