Obituary: Cynthia Louise Welsh Colangelo passed away at the age of 55 on 27th after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Cindy, also known as CC, was born on 17, 1957 and was raised in Miami, Florida by John Robert and Mary Welsh. She was the beloved granddaughter of John and Lavinia Allen, late of Miami, Florida. Cindy was a proud graduate of the University of Florida and so, naturally, a rabid Gator fan. Cindy moved to Carrollton, Texas in 1986 where she resided with her husband Joseph Colangelo and two sons, Jesse Welsh DeAnda and Anthony Colangelo until her death this week. Along with her parents, Cindy leaves five siblings: Anne Marie (Larry Johnson), Barbara Jean (Richard Wilson), Debra Ann (Victor Platt), Ellen Lavinia (Andrew Elam) and brother Francis Allen along with a number of dear nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Cindy was the glue that held the family together with her jokes, cards, silly faces and we can forget her parties. She was sweet, driven, mischievous, passionate, spiritual, loving, a great friend, beautiful sister, sweet aunt, loving wife and mother. And for a tiny woman, Cindy was larger than life. She had a huge heart. Cindy is well-known for her far-reaching community service efforts. working in the corporate world for many years, Cindy returned full-time to her passion for helping other people. She served on the board and as director of a number of local non-profit organizations. Through her consulting firm, CLC Consulting, Cindy was an advocate for the education and development of our nations youth, served as a certified Ombudsman for local senior citizens, coordinated numerous fundraising events and most recently devoted much of her energy to advocacy for those with breast cancer. Through her efforts as a speaker with the Susan G. Komen Speakers Bureau, Cindy became an accomplished speaker whose presentations always left her audience deeply moved. For the past 10 years or so Cindy has battled breast cancer in many forms. Once one form of the cancer was knocked down through treatment another popped up. Cindy has been an inspiration to many, whether through her battle with cancer, her leadership at church, or her work with local non-profits. During the last several years of her life, Cindy documented her progress and trials through her posts to www.caringbridge.org. These posts provide a deep insight into the life of a very special woman dealing with a terminal disease. Through Cindys advocacy for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, she inspired many to join her in her numerous fundraising and awareness efforts. Through CCs Sisters, Cindy brought together friends and family alike to join in Susan G. Komens 3-Day Walk for the past three years raising money for research. The team is again gearing up for the walk again in in Dallas. Thanks go out to the staff at UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer and all the special nurses of Faith Presbyterian Hospice who helped us care for Cindy through these past few years. We could not have done it without them; their advice and strength helped get us through the rough patches. Their care and love will forever be in our hearts. It was Cindys wish that in lieu of sending flowers, her friends honor her memory by sending donations to one of her favorite charities in her name. Susan G. Obituary: ALBERT BIBS EARL COLAIANNI, age 87, passed away , 29, 2014. He was born 12, 1927, in Clairton, PA, to Albert John Colaianni and Donna Lotto Colaianni. Bibs served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and again in the Korean War. He learned to be a tailor in the Navy while stationed in London, UK, and returned to the U.S. to pursue the trade. Bibs rose in the industry, to become a plant manager for Jonathan Logan in Walnut Ridge, AR, manufacturing women's clothing. From the moment he first saw his future wife, he was smitten for life. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bibs enjoyed golf, traveling, and living life to the fullest with his family. He was also an amateur geologist and rock collector, and designed jewelry for his wife and daughters incorporating the precious and semi-precious stones he collected. Bibs applied his skills as a tailor making clothing for special occasions for his children, fixing bridesmaid dresses on his daughter's wedding day, and even repairing treasured stuffed animals for his grandchildren. He particularly loved to cook for his family, whether waffles for breakfast, ravioli for Christmas, or his extra special secret recipes for meatballs or ribs for dinner. Bibs valued all of the finest things in life that were worth "ten thumbs up", be they an extra-long meal with family and loved ones, quality fabrics and clothing, a good bottle of wine, or spoiling his grandchildren. Perhaps the best story he ever told: "Once upon a time. The end." Bibs was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Marie Colaianni; and his brothers, John Colaianni and Donald Colaianni. He is survived by his wife, Edith Colaianni; brother, Larry Colaianni (Dorothy); his children, Valerie Brown (Kelton), Albert Jeffrey Colaianni (Margaret), Janine Sherman (Steven Sherman MD), and Gregory Colaianni (Mary); his grandchildren Kristen Brown, Julia Sherman, Scott Brown, Michael Sherman, Rosie Sherman, Gabriel Colaianni and Lucas Colaianni. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, , 2, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM, , 3, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6622 Haskell St., Houston, with the Rev. Donald S. Nesti, Celebrant.
