Obituary: Frank C. Coker (Sonny), age 87, passed away peacefully with family by his side on 17, 2016 in Willis, Texas.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Rose Sandel Coker; daughter, Senia Lyn Dix of Willis, and sons Frank C. Coker, Jr., of Coldspring and Leslie L. Coker of Daisetta. Frank is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph Dix, Cynthia Odefey, Denise Joiner, Christopher Coker and Tiffany Rigney; as well as nine great grandchildren.
Frank was born on May 14, 1928 and grew up in Houston, Texas. In , 1950 he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served in the Korean War. serving his country he worked in various pipe fitting positions and retired from Hughes Tool after over a twenty year career. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed crafting, photography and fishing.
Visitation will be held 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Cashner in Conroe. services will be held , 22, 2016 at 12:30pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Obituary: Frances Willodine Coker, wife of Henry Coker, mother of three children and an elementary teacher, went to be with the Lord 27. She cared deeply for her family, for the people in the churches where they served, and for her little 1st graders. She was always involved in the church through teaching School and playing the piano and the organ. Her faith carried her through difficult times and she in turn reached out to others who were hurting.

Frances will be greatly missed by her two children, Sylvia Cummings and husband, Paul, who are missionaries in Spain and Craig Coker and wife, Lanissa. Craig is a financial advisor and Lanissa is working on her Master's in History.

Frances was loved by her five grandchildren: Heather Johnson, Ryan Cummings, Crystal Coker, Carmen Lingenfelter, and Daylon Hethcock; six great-grandchildren: Christian, Elisa, Jonathan, Rosa, Liesl, and Ava; brother, Martin Egelston and sister, Carolyn Sims.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on , 5, 2015 at the American Heritage , 10710 Veteran's Memorial Drive. A graveside service and committal will follow in Houston National .

Obituary: Estelle Goodnight Coker, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on , 27th, 2014. She passed away in a Temple, TX hospital after lengthy health issues.

She was born 26th, 1927 and lived almost her entire life in Holland, TX. She married Melvin Goodnight on 21st, 1947. Estelle and Melvin owned and operated Holland Drug Store in Holland, TX for many years. Melvin died following a tragic accident on 6th, 1970.

Estelle married J.D. (Pete) Coker on 21st, 1996. She lived in Holland, TX until her death.

She actively served at her church, St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett, TX. She was also very involved and served her community in various capacities in Holland, TX. She served her church by co-chairing the bereavement committee for 20 years, was a member of the Church Alter Guild and she was active in numerous church fund raising activities.

Her community involvement included serving as an officer of the Holland Womens Study Club where she was a member for over 50 years, Charter member and director of the Mayfield-Dobbs Museum and B.J. Hill Library. She promoted businesses and development in Holland and was a cornerstone in many Holland Chamber of Commerce activities. She also served on the Holland Corn Festival Board, the Will OBell nursing home board in Bartlett, TX and on the Holland Association. She was an SPJST member for almost 30 years where she served as lodge reporter and was active in SPJST fundraisers. She received the State Fraternalist of the Year Award from SPJST in 2006 for her outstanding fraternal and community service. She was an officer of the American Legion auxiliary.

As a 36 year breast cancer survivor, she always supported the Temple Relay for Life fundraiser. She actively worked to promote breast cancer awareness and education.

Her husband Melvin Goodnight, daughter Sharon Neuman and her parents Julius and Dora Kourt preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband J.D. (Pete Coker), two sons Larry Goodnight of Georgetown, TX, David Goodnight of Harrisburg, PA, step daughter Mary Davis of Cat Springs, TX, 5 grand children Shelley Goolsby of Friendswood, TX, Ashley Goodnight of Round Rock, TX, Kevin Goodnight of Spring, TX, Hannah Goodnight of Harrisburg, PA, Noah Goodnight of Harrisburg, PA, two step grand children Roxanne Coker of Houston, TX and Leah McDowell of Cat Springs, TX. Estelle is also survived by 5 great grand children and one step great grandchild.

Estelle loved spending time with her family and energetically serving her church, her community and gardening.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm 29th at Goodnight in Bartlett, TX. service is to be conducted at 9am , 30th at St John Lutheran Church in Bartlett with burial service immediately following at the Holland in Holland, Texas, with Pastor Joe Woodward, of St. John Lutheran Church of Bartlett, TX officiating.

Obituary: L. Earl Coker, 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior on , 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Earl is survived by his wife Cecelia Coker; sons Chris Coker and wife Brigitte and Mitch Coker; daughters Brandie Vaughn and Krystal Flores and husband Joey; granddaughters Dakota Flores, Khloe Flores, and Madison Flores; grandson Cameron Coker; granddaughter Chasidy Mauldin; brother Johnny Coker and wife Pat; and cousin Jimmy D. Coker and wife Betty. Earl was born 22, 1941 in Corsicana, TX to Norvil and Lois (Nichols) Coker. He was an avid sports fan who, in his earlier years, loved playing baseball. While in high school in Corsicana, his team went to the state championship game in baseball. In the late seventies, he coached semi-pro baseball here in San Angelo. He was an avid golfer who loved playing with his numerous friends every afternoon at SACC. His work career started in 1964 working as an insurance agent with Allstate in Odessa. a couple of years, he went to work for Farmers Insurance and in 1972, moved from Odessa to San Angelo and began his agency here in San Angelo. He was an agent for Farmers Insurance for 41 years retiring in 2007. Besides being an insurance agent, he also had many side ventures in real estate. He also loved auto racing and was one of the developers of Road Runner Speedway in San Angelo. Earl had endless energy and was involved in numerous partnerships and development over the years. The family would like to send a special shout out to his Inn Of The West Coffee Group and his Golfing Buddies at SACC. The pallbearers for the service will be Cameron Coker, John Conn, Bob Housley, Ted Hooper, Robert Perez, Mike Godwin, Bobby Menchaca, Milton Pierce, and Eddie Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be a special cousin Jimmy D. Coker, Wes James, Charlie McDaniel, Bill Davis, Joe Emery, David Winston, Tommy Corbell, Bill Kyle, Danny Kiser, Mike Halamicek, Gregg Labarge, Ricky Perez, Robert Rosson, Dale Heck, and Mickey Sallee. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Delane, Peggy, Candy, Kathy, Sherrie and Tina of Odyssey Hospice. Obituary: DOROTHY PITTMAN COKER, 93, of Keller, Texas went home to be with her Lord on 7, 2015 Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God were a testimony to family, friends and the loving staff that cared for her. Dr. Jarrett Stephens of Prestonwood Baptist Church officiating.

Dorothy was born to Howard Payne and Sudie Eugenia Starnes Pittman on 7, 1922 in Ballinger, Texas; she was a graduate of Bryan High School in Bryan, Texas and attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.

Dorothy’s four sons were the light of her life of whom she was so proud. She worked for the Army Air force Exchange in Dallas, Texas until her retirement in 1984. Since her retirement she has lived every moment to the fullest – enjoying her sons, their families – Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and her many special friends.

Dorothy is survived by her four beloved sons and daughter-in-laws: John and Dana Thomas of Cliffside Park, New Jersey; Steve and Brenda Thomas of Weatherford, Texas; Bill and Debby Thomas of Sherman, Texas, and Tommy and Joyce Thomas of Friendswood, Texas; Nine Grandchildren, Donna Eckhardt and husband Richard Wagner, Tiffany Matthews and husband John, Stephanie Reed and Husband Dale, Tiffany Long and husband Marcus, Zachary Thomas and wife Jessica, Tara Thomas, Tracie Antley and husband Nathan, B.J. Thomas and wife Heather, Kristie Brock and husband Floyd and dear friend Joan Eddleton.

Her Great Grandchildren are Donald III, Delaney, and Darian Eckhardt; Linden, Lucy and Laney Matthews; Harrison, Andrew, Noah and Hudson Reed; Caden and Landry Long; Harper Thomas; Dakota and McKenzie Antley; Billy Lee and Tommy Thomas; Savannah and Olivia Brock.

One of the descendants of the settlers of McLennan , Dorothy was born to Beatrice Cowan and Simeon Isler Darden on 15, 1914, of Lott, Texas.<br> <br> At a young age her family moved to Waco, where she attended and graduated from the Waco Public Schools. She later attended Texas Tech where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She graduated from Baylor University in 1936. <br><br> She married Thomas Jefferson Coker of Bartlett, Texas in 1937. <br> Then in 1942, her husband was called to duty in World War II, which sent them to live in various places in the United States including Monroe, North Carolina and Washington D.C. During that time Dorothy served as a war volunteer. <br><br> Dorothy returned to Waco to be a school teacher while her husband was sent to active duty overseas for three years. <br><br> the war Mr. Coker resumed a career with Texaco The Texas and the couple was transferred frequently around the United States. <br><br> Mrs. Coker remained active in the Presbyterian Women of the Church, Magna Charta Dames, Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. <br><br> In 1987, the Cokers moved to San Antonio to be near their daughter and her family, where they resumed their membership in the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio. <br><br> She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Coker, her parents Mr. and Mrs. S.I. Darden, brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. S.I. Darden and sister Beatrice Cowan Darden. She is survived by her daughter Jane Coker Buchek and husband John Wallace Buchek, grandson Tres Buchek and wife Mills all of San Antonio, and her granddaughter Laura Buchek Page and husband Clay Page of Houston.
