Obituary: Ellen Holst Coira loving wife of 64 years, mother, grandmother and friend, died at home and went to be with our Lord on 20, 2006 ~ four days short of her 90th birthday. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 1916 the daughter of a Danish businessman/consul general, Peter Holst, and a Scottish mother, Bella Dunn. She was educated in Denmark and spoke three languages. She married an American Army Air Corps squadron commander stationed in Salinas Ecuador, shortly after the outbreak of WWII. She is survived by her beloved husband, General Louis Coira and four children, Christine, Peter, Paul and Mark and their spouses. She will be greatly missed by her family including seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. For the past 35 years, she has made her home in Windcrest and was a faithful and active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Ellen loved golf in her earlier years, reading and helping others as a Red Cross volunteer. She will be remembered for her genuine appreciation of people and life, her wish for all people to "just get along" and her constant selfless devotion to her family. |

Obituary: William Lanier Coiner Bill, age 65, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on , 22, 2009 after battling pancreatic cancer. He was born in Tampa, Florida, 31, 1943 to Major General Richard Tide Coiner, Jr. and Helen Nix Coiner. A graduate of Le Rosey, Switzerland, and the University of Pennsylvania, he traveled to and lived in many parts of the United States and Europe due to his fathers military career. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1968-70, after which he joined Frost Bank and later Groos Bank. In more recent years he was an associate at Kuper-Sothebys International Realty. He was a member of the Argyle, the San Antonio Country Club, the Order of the Alamo, the German Club, the Conopus Club and the Pilon Club. He was pre-deceased by his parents and older brothers, Richard Tide Coiner III and Beverly Nix Coiner. Bill loved hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family, where he spent his childhood summers in Port Aransas, TX. He was a devoted husband, father and a friend to all. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ann; his daughters, Emily Coiner Foster and husband Trey, and Josephine Houston Coiner; his grandchildren, Zachery and Emma Foster; his sisters-in-law Charlotte Watson Coiner and Kathleen Moon Coiner; his in-laws Andrew Zilker and Josephine Houston Thompson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank Dr. James L. Abbruzzese, of M.D. Anderson Cancer , Dr. Anthony Tolcher, of South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics START, Bills dear friend and advocate Dr. George D. Obituary: Richard Tide Dick Coiner III, died , 29, 2006 at the age of 68. He was born on 2, 1938 at Fort Jay, GovernorÂs Island, New York to Helen Lanier Nix Coiner and Richard Tide Coiner, Jr. USMA Â32. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Helen Nix Coiner and Richard T. Coiner, Jr. and his brother, Beverly Nix Coiner. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Watson Scharlie Coiner; his daughter Catherine McCord Coiner Kate Park and her husband John; his son Richard Tide Coiner IV and his wife Lorissa and grandchildren John Carroll Park, Jr., Nix Lanier Park and Richard Tide Cinco Coiner V. He is also survived by his brother William Lanier Coiner and his wife Ann; his nieces Emily Dawson Coiner, Josephine Houston Coiner, Alexandra McCord Turner, Leslie Saunders Reagan and her husband Rocky; his nephews Beverly Nix Coiner, Jr., John W. Saunders III and H. Whitridge Ridge Turner IV. Additionally he is survived by his cousins Helen Brooks Suzie Piña and her husband Armando; and David Nix Brooks and his wife Bonnie; his sisters-in-law Judy Watson Saunders, Penelope Watson Penny Turner and her husband Whit and Kathleen Moon Coiner; his brother-in-law, H. Whitridge Whit Turner III. Dick graduated from Culver Military Academy, attended the University of Maryland, Munich, the Sorbonne and graduated from Trinity University with a degree in French. DickÂs great-grandfather, Joseph Madison Nix, built the Nix Professional Building and hospital in 1928 and Dick worked there for many years, starting in the maintenance department, then the business office, the building management office and finally as President. He retired in 1984 when the building was sold. He was a former president of the Building Owners and Managers Association, member of the Texas Hospital Association, the Alamo Kiwanis and the Downtown Rotary Club. He was a past president of the Order of the Alamo, a member of the San Antonio German Club, the Texas Cavaliers, the Merry Knights of King William and the Conopus Club. He belonged to the Argyle, the San Antonio Country Club and Club Giraud. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had many hunting leases over the years, more recently the hunting camp in Cotulla, Texas where he built his own private ÂcasitaÂ. He loved to hunt deer, dove and quail with his family and friends and Brittany Spaniel, Sam and black Lab, Shine. the hunt he especially loved sitting around the campfire with a cold beer, chatting with everyone present and cooking dinner outdoors. These were among his happiest times. Dick was a quiet man, yet an accomplished story teller with an extensive vocabulary and a keen, quick wit. He was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and his abundant joke telling skills. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word and he will be missed by all who knew him. Service at St. Lukes Episcopal Church will be officated by the Rev. Dr. Malcolm Ellis. The pallbearers are his long time close friends George J. Ames, George C. Tim Hixon, Charles L. Jeffers, John B. Lupe, John K. Matthews, Bruce G. Reppert, Burton Barnes, Harry S. Affleck and Tom G. Folsom. Honorary pallbearers will be the Past Presidents of the Order of the Alamo. Obituary: George Robert Coiner, Jr., 60, of The Woodlands TX passed away on 31, 2010 surrounded by his family at Methodist Hospital in Houston. George was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. George graduated from Milton High School in Milton, West Virginia. He went on to graduate with a Bachelors Degree from Marshall University and received his MBA from Morehead State University. He was a well known and respected businessman in the oil and gas industry for the last 37 years. He will be remembered for many reasons by all who were acquainted with him. George enjoyed traveling with his family, playing golf, and pursuing new business ventures. He especially cherished the time spent at the family home in Lake Tahoe with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Lillian Coiner. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife of 41 years, Jeanette Jordan Coiner, their son Robert and his wife Roxanne of San Antonio; their daughter Amy Eggleton of Spring; their son Thomas and his wife Amy of Pearland, and his brother Michael Coiner and wife Diane of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Grandchildren are Tyler and Lauren Coiner of San Antonio, Amber and Michael Eggleton of Spring, and Isabelle, Chase and Garrett Coiner of Pearland.
