She is survived by daughter, Daphne Lynn Sartain of Anna, Texas; son Jason Bradley Cobbs of Carrollton, Texas; brother Gary Dale Sewell of Longview, Texas; four grandchildren; Spencer Ryan Fulgium of Anna, Texas, Nathan Leslie Fulgium of Fort Worth, Texas, Emily Lynn Perkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Jada Riley Cobbs of El Paso, Texas; and 1 great-grandchild; Ethan Tyler Fulgium of Fort Worth, Texas. Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Jo Sewell of Carrollton, Texas; and her father, J.T. Sewell of Pilot Point, Texas. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church of Carrollton, former member of First Baptist Church of Bedford, Texas, and New Hope Baptist Church of Aubrey, Texas. She would also like to note that she was also a member of the Louisiana Lady Lunkers of Shreveport, Louisiana. Family will receive family and friends , 22, 2013 from 7-8 pm at Rhoton . Obituary: George Waymond Cobbs, 66, of Dallas passed away unexpectedly on 9, 2015 and on that day the world changed forever and our lives will never be the same. He lived his life full of laughter, honesty and love and was a blessing to the people that knew him. George made people feel at ease. He made friends everywhere he went. He lit up the room with his warm smile and infectious laugh. George lived each moment to the fullest. George was beloved by his wife and best friend, Shanna Nugent Cobbs. Shanna would frequently tell people that George made her laugh every minute of every day and she couldn’t think of a better way to live life. And live life he did! George dedicated a large portion of his life to helping and serving others. This was evidenced in his work with mentally ill children at MHMR. He extended his care for others into his work as a massage therapist. One of his favorite activities each week was taking food to people who were shut in. George was a believer in honesty above all else. He would counsel his friends, family and clients and he had an uncanny ability to find the heart of the matter. George wanted to help others reach their goals and live happier and fuller lives. He never shied away from hard issues or having the sensitive conversation. He approached everything with a childlike joy and enthusiasm. He believed in teaching his daughters to be strong and self-sufficient. He believed that there were no limitations on what a person could be or become. His spent his life demonstrating this belief. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Muhammed, his sister, Debra Samples; his aunt Gertrude Wilson; and his father, Waymond Jackson, Jr. In addition to his wife Shanna, George is survived by his seven children: Absolom Cobbs, George Cobbs Jr., Ursula Cobbs, Kezia Cobbs Jackson, Anastacia Johnson, Marilyn Georgette Cobbs and Akilah Sabir. He is also survived by his mother, Georgia Lee Cobbs, and his siblings Patricia Randall, Sherri Lynn Waters, Yolanda Thomas, Gwendolyn Crawford, Adrienne Osin, Robert Waters, Thomas Waters, and Jimmy Jackson, as well as many in-laws, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends |
