Obituary: Robbie Dell Craddock Cloud was born 6, 1926 in Rugby, TX and passed away peacefully on Feb. 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sons Smitty and Jack. Left to survive her are sons Tony (Karen) Cloud and Steve (Ann) Cloud; daughter-in-law Rosemary (Smitty) Cloud; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Robbie was at her last home, Colonial Oaks Memory in Pasadena, where she was treated with love, dignity and expert care by their loyal staff and the outstanding Critical Team from Hallmark Hospice. Robbie was always the last to leave an event -- family gathering, church, party, etc. -- and she waited into her 9th day of critical care before going to her reward. Which most likely will include doing Jack's laundry. Robbie was born to Marvin and Amy Steed Craddock and was one of 8 children where they lived in the tiny northeast TX town of Bogata. Sadly, Marvin died in 1939 when Robbie was only 12. It is sweet to note that Robbie and her Dad were both born in and died in . She would have liked that. Her Mom, Amy, who was a tiny little thing, raised her brood of young ones and did a terrific job of it. moving to Galena Park, TX, Robbie met and married Bill Cloud. It was there that they raised sons Tony, Smitty, Steve, and Jack, and where all the boys, including Bill, played football for Galena Park High School. even lived in the old Galena Park Firehouse (before Jack) in a tiny apartment, then moving to 13th street. Bill and Robbie were so proud of their boys, including when each received football scholarships: Tony to Tarleton State and Smitty, Steve, and Jack to the University of Houston. Being a stay-at-home Mom was Bill's gift to her, and enabled her to be there around the clock for her boys. But she also enjoyed many years of painting and managed to get outside now and then to garden, visit with family and friends, travel with Bill, and most especially, "being with the girls" and line-dancing. Another big part of the Clouds' family life was their attendance and dedication to our church, Galena Park United Methodist -- in existence for 98 years and always with Clouds on the membership rolls. Robbie's family has been blessed by so many family members, friends, and agencies throughout this long journey. When her care required more than we could give because of Alzheimer's, she received loving, dedicated care from the following angels: Alex Bonetti and Staff at Family Tree ; Colonial Oaks Pearland; Colonial Oaks Vista, Pasadena; and Hallmark Hospice, particularly their Critical Team Service on , Feb. 20, 2016 at Galena Park United Methodist Church: 10:30 visitation and 11:30 memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Foundation, the charity of your choice, or go out and have a nice meal and think of her. |
