Obituary: A celebration of the life of Thomas E. Clark, Sr. will be held , 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Lloyd James Chapel in Tyler. Visitation will proceed the service beginning at 1 :00 PM, with burial following the service at Bascom under direction of Lloyd James . Born at home in Bascom to Cleo F. Clark and Callie Catherine Wright Clark on , 10, 1929, Tom was a fifth generation descendent of Smith pioneers Reuben and Amanda Fugate Clark and Richard and Mary Wright. He graduated from Tyler High School in 1946 and attended Tyler Jr. and Texas A&M University. Tom served as Production Manager at Smith Tank and Equipment for 40 years. Most important to Tom were his family and their activities. Whether it was a ballet or piano recital, baseball, volleyball, or soccer, he was there to cheer everyone on! He also had a very special interest in little league and pony league baseball. Whether he was coaching or umpiring baseball games, he was a great leader and mentor for many! Tom passed from his earthly life on , 13, 2014 to join those who preceded him in death which include his son Thomas Clark Jr., granddaughter Cynthia Renee Bass, and brother Jerry Mike Clark. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Nell Palmer Clark, daughters: Gayle Thompson (Bill) and Kay Fielding (Charles); grandchildren: Michael David Bass, Callie Crede' Owens (Cory), and Chrisi Wester Mitchell (Cody); great-grandchildren: Hunter Pipak, Gracie and Zoe Owens; and brother Joe Bob Clark. Pallbearers are: Michael Bass, Cory Owens, Cody Mitchell, and former baseball players Joe Weaver, Dale Acker and John Hartfield. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce K. Bellis Clark; daughter Tonetta Andaya and husband Robert; son Rodney Clark and wife Julie; grandchildren Caden and Logan Clark; sisters Shirley Tate and Vicki Johnson; brother Jim Clark; nine nieces, nephews and their families; special friends Raynell and Billy Caples, Kerry and Brian Mitchell; and Samantha.
