Obituary: Billie Clack, 87, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on 11, 2011. services will be held 1:30 PM on 15 at First Baptist Church, 1300 East 15th St. in Plano, Texas. Visitation hours are 5:00 to 7:00 PM, 14, at Ted Dickey , 2128 18th Street in Plano. Bill was a proud member of the greatest generation. He served as a belly gunner on B17 aircraft with the 398th Bomb Group during World War II. the war, he began a 39 year career in the oil industry in seismic exploration with the Atlantic Refining and retired from ARCO in 1985 as a geophysical coordinator. In 1946, he met and married his sweetheart for the next 64 years, Prudence Ann Caine of Orrville, Alabama. Bill was a member of the 398th Bomber Group Member Association and a lifetime member of the VFW. Bill loved family, fishing, cooking, good conversation, and 18 year old scotch whiskey. Bill is survived by wife Ann Clack; sisters Mary Jo Young and Ana Bel Bartley of Clarksville, Texas; son Bill Clack and wife Carol of Seaford, Virginia; son John Clack and fiancée Belinda Wilson of Houston, Texas; daughter Marianne Watson and husband Kyle of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Beverly Lane and husband Duke of Paris, Texas; grandsons and granddaughters Courtney Clack, Katie Clack, Christopher Clack, Kevin Clack, Matthew Watson, Jenna Watson, Glenna Jackson, and Tony Lane; three great grandchildren; and many more loved family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bills memory to the American Heart Association, www.donate.americanheart.org under the direction of Jarrid Stout at Ted Dickey , Plano, TX. |
