Obituary: Lorraine Scherrer Cheetham passed away on , 22, 2007. She was born in San Antonio on 27, 1921, and attended Brackenridge High School. Lorraine married her beloved husband, James L. Cheetham, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together before his passing in 1985. Lorraine was an accomplished administrative assistant for Roy L. Martin and Assoc. She was an active and devoted member of Castle Hills First Baptist Church, where she served on many committees and taught school. Her many friends and family will enjoy precious memories of a generous, vivacious personality, expert cook, gracious hostess, and superb gardener. She is survived by her nieces, Pat Wallace; Maureen Pisano and husband, Louis; and Jan Ramert. Other family members include great-nephew, Mike Wallace and wife, Marcella; great-niece, Lori Wallace and daughter, Charlene; great-nephew, Shelton Wallace and wife, Nancy; brother-in-law, George Wechsler; and many additional relatives and friends. Obituary: Karin Marita Cheer, 64, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away on 30, 2017, after being diagnosed with terminal Stage 4 lung cancer on 17, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, and was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, and enjoyed listening to jazz. Karin was born to Ella and Adam Felmet on May 9, 1953, in Flettmar, Germany. In 1954, she migrated to the United States with her parents and sister Ursula, and it was during that ocean crossing that Karin celebrated her first birthday and learned to walk. The family settled in Orchard Park, New York, where Karins aunt lived. graduating from Orchard Park Central High School, Karin attended SUNY at Brockport studying languages before taking a secretarial position with Goldstein, Navagh, Bulan & Chiari. Karin quickly distinguished herself and worked her way up to paralegal with the law firm. In 1989, Karin married Nicholas Cheer and together they had two sons, Adam and Matthew. Then in 1994, Karin resigned her position with the law firm and the family bought a home in Missouri City, Texas, where Karin focused on her family and raising her two sons. her husband died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 2010, Karin joined H-E-B where she prepared food and wine tastings as part of H-E-B Showtime. Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Karin is survived by her son Adam Cheer of Seattle Washington, Matthew Cheer of Missouri City, Texas, and her sister Ursula Felmet of Houston, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on , 7, 2017, at the Earthman Southwest in Stafford, Texas. Obituary: Charles (Chuck) McDonald Cheeld III passed away on 30, 2013 in Palm Springs. Beloved father, grandfather and dear friend, he is survived by his daughter Laura Anne Cheeld Day, son Charles M. Cheeld IV, granddaughter Mechelle Castillo, and grandson Charles M. Cheeld V. His daughter Marcia Jean Cheeld predeceased him in 1970. Chuck was born 27, 1939, in San Francisco. Chuck was the only child of C.M. “Don” Cheeld II and Dagna Lindquist Cheeld. Raised in Portland, OR, Chuck was an Eagle Scout, graduating from U.S. Grant High School in 1957. Chuck earned a B.A. from Willamette University in Salem, OR, where he was initiated into Sigma Chi fraternity. On 4, 1961, Chuck graduated from Willamette, married Karen Lee Henninger, and was commissioned into the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant… all on the same day. Chuck was a pilot, entrepreneur, and community leader. His passion was flying. He served in the US Air Force for five years, flying various jets and tankers, and living abroad with his young family. he left the Air Force as a Captain, Chuck flew commercial passenger jets for Continental Airlines for sixteen years, where he also represented his fellow pilots as a union leader. In 1981, Chuck led an employee effort to purchase Continental Airlines, using a then-innovative Employee Stock Ownership Plan concept. While flying for Continental, Chuck built and operated several laundromats and dry-cleaning stores throughout Los Angeles . he left Continental in 1983, Chuck became owner and CEO of California Commercial Laundry Systems. In the early 1990’s, Chuck sold his interest in CCLS, and moved full-time to Palm Springs. There he launched his third career, becoming a licensed Real Estate Appraiser. Once again, he ran his own business - Southern California Appraisal Group. Chuck gave generously of his time and talents. He served as the Board Chairman of the City of Angels Hospice in Los Angeles, which cared for patients during the height of the AIDS crisis. He was later appointed to the Palm Springs Airport Commission – a position which combined his flying expertise, business acumen and service to the community. He served on the Palm Springs Airport Commission for approximately twelve years, including a five-year term as its Chairman. Chuck was a devoted Rotarian and member of Palm Springs Rotary Club, serving on its board for about four years. He was very active in his support of the Angel View Crippled Children Foundation’s annual prom, which was sponsored by Palm Springs Rotary Club. He was a Rotary Paul Harris +3 Fellow, in recognition of his support of the Rotary International Foundation, and its numerous international and local service projects to better mankind.
