Obituary: Gwendolyn Stratton Charpentier passed away 29, 2016 at the age of 87 in Rockwall, Texas. Gwen was born on 7, 1928 to Dollie Grace and Lawrence Stratton in Oklahoma. A graduate of Kansas State University, Gwen married Leonard A. Charpentier, MD on 13, 1956, whom she met while she was Chief Dietician for John Sealy Hospital (now UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. Gwen is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. In Galveston, Gwen was an active member of the Junior League, bookkeeper for Trinity Episcopal School, dedicated member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and President of The Womens Medical Auxiliary. During her retirement in Abilene, Gwen served on the Altar Guild of Church of the Heavenly Rest, and was active in the Womens Investment Club. Gwen is survived by Larry and Anne Charpentier and their children, Drew, Thomas and Jane, and by Alicia and Joe Haley, and their family, Hatsie, Kevin, Stratton and Kelsey. A private memorial and inurnment service will be held at Church of the Heavenly Rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Trinity Episcopal School, Church of the Heavenly Rest, or the donors favorite charity. |

Obituary: Bobbi Charpentier was born 11/22/1944 in Texarkana, Arkansas and passed away very peacefully on Christmas Day, her favorite day of the year, in her home with her loving family at her side. Bobbi was preceded in death by her father, Otis Rex Justice and her brother, Gene Smith. Bobbi is survived by daughters, Febra and husband Rusty Crist, Angel and husband Jeff and grandchildren, Chelsea 18, Taylor 14 and Alex 3 months. She is also survived by her "adopted son" amd favorite nephew, Dwayne Smith: mother, Grace Justice; sister, Joyce Chambers and brother, Perry Smith. Bobbi was an extraordinary Mother, Grandmother (Nana), daughter, sister and friend. Bobbi was an absolute Diva. You never saw her without her hair being perfect, her nails beautifully manicured in her signature red, and her apparel always matching to the perfect T. She was the ultimate "Take Charge" girl. Her outgoing personality and "get it done" attitude was displayed in her job as Executive Assistant to the owner of Stoller USA. Her girls will always remember that she would drop everything to help one of them with anything they needed from decorating a nursery or buying a homecoming dress at the last minute or even just to make her famous Chicken and Dumplings to make the sickness go away faster. Her friends will always remember that when you heard Bobbis hands slap against the countertop, they knew that their "Chief in Charge" was calling them to attention and it was time to "listen up". will also remember Bobbi belting out their favorite country western tunes or making a flower arrangement for them. Bobbi was the strongest person in all of our lives and will be missed greatly; although she will always be alive in our hearts forever. |
