Obituary: Beverly Ann Chapman, 24 year proud Grapevine resident and loving Mother, Grandmother, homemaker and loving friend to many, passed 1, 2014. She was 63. Beverly was known as “Mom” to her children, “GiGi” to her grandchildren and countless children she cared for and “Bev” to her many beloved friends. Beverly fought a long 5 year, 2 month battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on 1, 2009. She never quit fighting and believing and always maintained her faith in the Lord and continued to believe for healing and peace. She was brave and endured many challenges and obstacles and embraced every one with a loving, positive and strong Christian spirit and never wavered, relented or stopped fighting in her battle. Beverly was a true, passionate and devoted lover of the Lord. She was deeply committed to her faith and considered her walk with Christ as a cornerstone of her life and one of her missions in life. She always confessed her faith in the Lord to everyone and always walked in the light of the Lord and in the favor of God, “FOG” and always proclaimed it “24/7”. She prayed for her loved ones, gave of herself to the Church and was always committed to being the best Christian woman she could be to make this world a better place. She was born in San Antonio in 1951 and spent her childhood years in Arkansas raised by her Mother and Father– Anna Marie and Benny Patrom. She lived as a child with her two brothers – her oldest Wayne Patrom and youngest Bruce Patrom. She loved them dearly and was very close with her Mother, who her children referred to as “M”. She had a very special relationship with her Mother and stood by her side in her battle with cancer. She moved to Altus, Oklahoma to attend prep school with her Mother and Step-Father Raymond E. Barber and her two brothers. She graduated in the Class of 1969 and was awarded an honor as Deca Club Queen of her High School - an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. She met her future husband Orville Scott Chapman as a sophomore at Altus High School in the winter of 1968. Beverly and Scott were married 21, 1971 and married for 31 years. were together, the best of friends and continued to love each other until Mom’s last breath. began their family in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1978. Beverly is also survived by her two children, Justin Bernard Chapman and Jamie Lynn Lambert. Justin, of Irving, Texas, was born on 10, 1978. Jamie, of Grapevine, Texas, was born on 5, 1981. Her children loved her with all their hearts and were dedicated to loving her and caring for her and making her life as loving and comfortable as it could be in health and in sickness. Beverly is also survived by her grandchildren Jasmine (14), Isabella (13) and Cameron (2) all of Grapevine, Texas. She loved being “Gigi” to them and always strived to love, care and disciple to them daily in their lives. She is survived by her loving friend Sheila Yvonne George, who she always considered a daughter and loved very much. She is survived by her countless friends, friends of her children, children of her friends, children she loved and all of her church friends throughout her many years as a devoted Christian. Mom loved the Lord. She worshiped at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas and considered there her Church . She loved the praise and worship and energy the Lord provided at Gateway. Mom loved her family and was very proud and loved always for them. She gave her passion, energy and guidance to her family. Mom loved to cook. She was a natural in the kitchen and prided her role as a homemaker on making miracles happen in the kitchen. When Mom loved a recipe or a homemade dish it was “two pinkies up”. She loved to entertain and dine out and dine with family and friends. Mom was a lover of Coca-Cola! One of her last requests was an ice cold Coca-Cola. Mom loved music and loved to dance and sing to the beat and share music with her loved ones. Her favorite song was Earth Song by Michael Jackson, a very deep, symbolic and meaningful and energetic song that brings out passion and care and concern for the world and everyone in it. She loved the holidays, and considered Christmas her favorite holiday. She always decorated exquisitely for Christmas and added a dash of joy, fun and sparkle and music to make it festive and warm. She loved to shop and always wore beautiful clothes. She loved to feel pretty. She loved to feel. Mom was a “feel” person. She loved to feel good and made others feel good. Mom had a beautiful sense of humor. She could make you laugh and feel happy on your worst day. Always had the knack for making you feel loved and happy. She loved “Town ”. Loved to go to the movies and enjoy popcorn and smile and lose herself for a moment in a film. Loved being a wife. She loved being a mother. Loved being a grandmother. She loved making life better for everyone she met. She will be with us forever and missed deeply and will always be in our hearts. And in our prayers. “Shalom”. Visitation will be at J. E. Obituary: Anna Laura Chapman entered eternal rest on , 25, 2002. Born 12, 1909 in Floresville, TX to Buna Teas and Lee Mayes McDaniel. attending the University of Texas and Westmoreland , she taught all subjects to students of all ages in a one-room schoolhouse near Floresville. In 1934, she married Steger Chapman and moved to Alice, TX, where their 2 children were born. In 1942, they moved to San Antonio and joined Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. She was a member and past president of Chapters Y and DW PEO. Preceded in death by her husband in 1974, and her sister in 2001, she is survived by daughter, Janine Shearer of Houston; son, Steger, Jr. and wife Sue of San Antonio; 4 granddaughters, Stacey Lyn Chapman of Pullman WA, Shanna Laura Meyer and husband Kevin of San Antonio, Anne Marguerite Fleener and husband Bryan of Kansas City, MO, and Laura Evelyn Shearer of Breckenridge, CO; 3 great-grandchildren, Brooke Ardath Meyer, Nicole Susan Meyer, and Luke Thomas Fleener.
