Obituary: Bertha Martinez Chapa, 51, of Placedo passed away 6, 2011. She was born 2, 1959, in Victoria to Anita Ortiz Martinez and the late Robert Martinez, Sr. She was employed by the Bloomington Independent School District for 17 years. She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Pete Chapa, Sr. of Placedo; her mother, Anita Ortiz Martinez of Placedo; children, Peter Chapa, Jr. of Placedo, Robert Chapa (Marianela Chapa) of Bloomington, Noel Chapa (Gina Chapa) of Victoria, Jessica Arias (Jhon Arias) of Placedo, Marcos Chapa of Placedo, Vincent Chapa (Sarah Chapa) of San Antonio, and Nicko Chapa (Karen Ramirez) of Victoria; brothers and sisters, Julia Robles, Gloria Santibanes, Robert Martinez, Jr., Albert Martinez, Sr. and Jojo Martinez; 14 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00-9:00 pm , 8, 2011, at Rosewood Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm on , 9, 2011, at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Bloomington. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm. services will be at 2:00 pm , 10, 2011, at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Jose . Obituary: The Great I Am has called his precious child Alonso Butch Chapa home. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on , 9, 2014. Butch age 58, was born on 8, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Gilberto Chapa and Antonia Chapa. a brave battle of liver cancer Butch passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side. Butch served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1976. He worked for Levi Strauss & Co., Army Depot, and Turner Machine Shop. Butch was full of life and lived in the moment His Way. He enjoyed the outdoor life, loved gardening, BBQs, campfires on cold winter nites and enjoyed sports, especially watching the Houston Texans and SA Spur Teams. Butch was a generous and kind man with a loving heart and will be dearly missed and remembered for his great sense of humor and story telling. He is preceded in death by his father, Gilberto Chapa and his sister, Lydia Chapa. Left to cherish his memories is his mother, Antonia Chapa; three brothers, Gilbert Jr. (Lupe) of Waco, Texas, Guadalupe (Rose) and David Chapa (Aida); five sisters, Maria Cirilo (Richard); Olivia Gonzales (Louis) of Waco, Texas; Delia Yanez (David); Linda Borrego (late Johnny) and Norma Libiran (Freddy) and numerous nephews and nieces. The Family would like to thank Debra Foster, with Corpus Christi and Altus Hospice for their loving support.
