Obituary: Marie Lucille Casparis, age 97, was called from this life on May 2, 2015. She was born in Johnson City, Texas on 18, 1917 to John S. Casparis and Ella Smith Casparis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers- Johnny Brooks Casparis and Charles Ted Casparis; sisters- Madeline Casparis and Rebecca C. Sansom; sister-in-law, Patty Casparis Hull; brother-in-law, George F. Sansom; and nephew, John Wesley Sansom. She is survived by three nephews and their wives, George CassSansom and wife Debbie; Patrick King Sansom and wife, Terry; and Tom Leezer and wife, Sara; two grandnieces, Rebecca Sansom Cook and her husband, William Cook and their children, Katherine, Lauren, and Daniel as well as Susan Kinzie and her children; and four grandnephews- Robert Casparis Sansom, Travis King Sansom and wife Ashley, Justin Keith Sansom, and Tommy Leezer. Marie graduated from Johnson City High School in 1931. graduating from high school, she entered Draughens Business where she majored in Business Administration. Marie worked as a bookkeeper for George C. Vaughn and Sons in San Antonio, TX for over 40 years and was an active member of the American Business Woman (ABW) throughout her career. She enjoyed a full life in San Antonio, Texas for over 75 years and moved to Austin in 2006. she retired, she enjoyed many family celebrations and became an avid BINGO player which was a passion she shared with her sisters. Per Maries request, a graveside memorial will be held at the family plot in the Masonic in Johnson City, Texas on , May 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. If inclement weather occurs, the service will be moved to Crofts - Crow , 305 E. Elm St. in Johnson City. All are asked to first meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Marie requested that donations be made to either the Johnson City Masonic , 290 Mountain Loop, Johnson City, TX 78636 or to the Activities Department at Stonebridge care located at 1111 Circle Drive, Austin, TX where she enjoyed her last few years. |

Obituary: Lee Benjamin Casparis, 86, passed away 16, 2015 in Johnson City. Lee was born in Johnson City to Howard Milton and Regina Smith Casparis. He was raised in Johnson City and graduated from Johnson City High School where he was part of a winning basketball team. Lee attended Tarleton State University. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Germany. Lee enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life-long, faithful and very active member of Johnson City First United Methodist Church. Lee was a regular at the Blanco Bowling Alley, both on the lanes and in the diner. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Libby Casparis, special friend Moline Lorenz, second wife, Blanche Casparis; sister, Kathleen Nell Norris; two brothers, John Christian and Raymond Franklin Casparis. He is survived by two brothers, Jim R. Casparis and wife Millie and Bill Casparis and wife Theresa; dear step children, Bill Althaus and wife Cheryl and their son Brian and Josephine Smith and her son Scott; nieces and nephews, y, Jason, Jon, Susie, Terry, Kelly, and Melia. Lee B. is also survived his dear friends Will and Dahmann as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM , 23, 2015 at Crofts – Crow in Johnson City. Services will be held at 2:00 PM , 24, 2015 at Johnson City First United Methodist Church, 105 LBJ Dr., Johnson City, TX 78636 with Rev. Lee Romero officiating. Brothers – AJ Casparis, Dayton Casparis, H.M Casparis, Nolan H. Casparis, JR (Dutch) Casparis and, 3 Sisters, Louise Edwards, Margaret Walker and Helen Cammack. Elmira graduated from high school in Johnson City and went on to Durhams Business school in San Antonio. She had a professional career working for San Antonio music as well as Outmans. In her life she loved travel the world and went on many trips traveling the US and over seas including Switzerland, Germany, Hawaii, and Italy. She moved from San Antonio to Johnson City in 2006. She wanted to be close to her family and enjoy her later days back at home. Even in her 80s building a house and moving was not a challenge. She always had a candy bar and a coke for you if you stopped by to visit. In Oct of 2014 she moved the LBJ Medical were and lived until she passed away peacefully on 6, 2015 Graveside Services will be held at Masonic in Johnson City TX on , 8th at Eleven oclock am with Rev.
