Obituary: Susan May Williams Carson passed away on , May 26, 2014, in Shiner, Texas at the age of 94. She was born on 27, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she grew up and graduated from high school. She was the daughter of Emma and Ray Hoy. Susan married Cecil Williams on May 23, 1941 in Oklahoma City. The couple moved to Houston in the early 1950s. Mr. Williams died on 7, 1977. Susan married Charles Kit Carson on 14, 1984 in Houston. She worked in several banks and credit unions in the Houston area, retiring from Capital Bank in 1984. Susan volunteered in the Houston ISD school district, was a member of Delta Rho Delta Sorority, Omega Chapter and St. Stephens United Methodist church in Houston. Mr. Carson died, Susan resided at The Terrace at Spring Shadows Place retirement center. While there she enjoyed sharing stories with friends, playing bridge and serving as the librarian. Susan is survived by one sister, Roberta Shoenherr of Ventura, California and nephews Otis Gove and Robert Gove, a niece, Donna Gove Griffin and step-daughter, Deborah Munro. Susan is preceded in death by her sister, Lois Gove and brother, Howell Hoy. The family will receive friends on , May 30, 2014, from 11am to 1pm. A funeral service will be held on at 1pm, with interment immediately following. |

Obituary: Scott Allen Carson was born on 22, 1976 and entered into rest on 12, 2016 at 39 years old. He was preceded in death by: Father-Roger A. Carson; Grandparents- Robert K. and Margaret K. Carson; Grandparents- r E. and Pearl Slavens. He is survived by: Mother – Betty J. Carson; Brothers – Robert Carson and wife Amber, Michael Terry and wife Maria and David Terry and wife Lori; Sisters – Kellie Ellison and husband Randy, Bonnie Tutt and Tee Binkley; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Scott will be remembered by his closest family and friends as unconditionally loving and compassionate. He was always willing to give a lending hand to anyone in need, even when he himself could have used the help. He worked hard, played hard, and loved even harder. His downtime was spent fishing or helping out at various outreach programs for those less fortunate. His nieces and nephews had a real, larger than life hero who could perform magic tricks and the “Donald Duck” voice that was sure to bring laughter and joy to any occasion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Scott’s name be made to The Station, an organization that is a beautiful physical depiction of Scott’s heart. Obituary: Services for Roger Niel Carson Sr., 73, of Flint are scheduled for 11 a.m. , 5, 2011, at Tyler Memorial with Bro. Sherman Mayfield, Bro. Bobby Bressman and Sgt. Chris Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Park. Mr. Carson was born 29, 1937, to the late Brad and Alma Hinsley Carson and passed away 1, 2011, in Tyler. Mr. Carson graduated from Oakwood High School in 1955, graduated from Sam Houston State in 1960, he served in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea in 1964 in helping to establish an orphanage and school for half-American children, served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and served two tours in West Germany. Mr. Carson was a deacon and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Welcome Soldiers. He was a lifetime member and officer of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 932 of Tyler. Mr. Carson is survived by his wife, Betty Carson of Flint; sons; Roger N. "Kit" Carson Jr. of Jacksonville, Kyle Carson and wife Sharon of Tyler, Kenneth Carson and wife Tammi of San Antonio; daughter, Kathy Dean and husband Lawrence of Tyler; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Bryan of Oakwood. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Faye Rubia. Visitation will be , 4, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
