Obituary: Surrounded by family, Wayne Elliot Campbell, a long-time resident of Corpus Christi, went to be with his heavenly father 15th, 2015. Wayne was born May 25th, 1929 on a small farm outside of Abilene, Texas. With a twinkle in his eye, he would often tell stories about growing up with no electricity, sleeping in a drawer as a baby and keeping warm in the oven. Wayne was so grateful for being born to good Christian parents, O.B. and Belle Campbell. Waynes Christian upbringing and personal relationship with Christ would serve as the very cornerstone for his entire life. At an early age, Wayne began playing guitar which led to the opportunity to play in bands and even record his music, so it would always be enjoyed. His love for music and his persistent respect for improving his craft continued into his final years. At family gatherings, Wayne could always be counted on to serenade his loved ones. Wayne was a true musician one of the greats. Waynes life was forever changed when he met Stone on a blind date at a friends home. There they had their first infamous abbit hunting date. That was all it took. 2 weeks later, they were engaged. and Wayne moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where they were blessed with three loving sons. Together, they enjoyed, fishing, spending time at their hunting cabin, putting their hearts into their Church and spreading the Word and love of Christ. Wayne worked as a store manager at Bonhams Grocery Store for several years before starting with State Farm Insurance in 1963. Waynes reputation and work ethic consisted of trust, respect, patience and making peace. One of the main tenets of Waynes life came from one of his favorite scriptures; Ephesians 4:1-3 says, I therefore, a prisoner for the lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Wayne Elliot Campbell was a humble and obedient servant of Jesus Christ who will be dearly missed. The world has lost a great light and true Christian example for all to aspire, while heaven has gained a loved child of God. Wayne is survived by his children: Wayne (Jeanette) Campbell, Kevin (Laura) Campbell and Cary Campbell. He is also survived by grandchildren: Kim (Corby) Richardson, Kristi (Andy) Schipper, Jarrett (Liana) Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Jordyn Campbell and Chase Campbell. Pall Bearers: Jarrett Campbell, Kyle Campbell, Chase Campbell, Corby Richardson, Andy Schipper and Donnie Smith. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on , 17, 2015 at Seaside . A Service will be held at Weber Road Church of Christ on , 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Rarely does a truly good man come along; such was the case on 11, 1925. Walter Ray ÂChief Campbell was born to Walter Wesley Campbell and Mae Smithwick Campbell near Blue Grove, Texas outside of Wichita Falls and entered into GodÂs loving arms on 29, 2005. The son of a rancher and Baptist preacher, Walter grew up in the depression. He was 10th of 13 children. Working on the ranch, attending Midway school and listening to his fatherÂs weekly if not daily sermons, he learned the lessons that would sustain him across France and Germany with PattonÂs Third Army and throughout a lifetime of business and personal successes. Returning home after the war he soon decided that his future lay in the big city. On 25, 1951, while working for American Airlines in Dallas, he married the love of his life, Joyce Bradley of Wichita Falls. soon saw opportunity and moved to San Antonio where they founded CampbellÂs Delivery Service. Being an excellent caller, he began the Bexar Squares Club. His many activities included golfing, fishing, hunting and travel. Along with his wife and family, he continued to be a vital part of CDS until his and JoyceÂs retirement in 1983. his  etirement, Walter devoted much of his time to his first love, ranching. Owning ranches in Atascosa, Blanco and Zavala Counties, he was a respected member of Foundation Beefmaster Association and a founding member of Central Texas Beefmaster Breeders. That, along with a devotion to his family, filled his remaining years. Never failing to offer a helping hand, sound advice, and a friendship second to none will make him sorely missed by all who loved and depended on him. Honor Â- Integrity Â- Steadfastness: weÂll miss you, Chief. He was a member of Coker United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 6 brothers, and 2 sisters.
