Obituary: Brooks Lamar Camp came to this earth on 28, 1944 and departed 10, 2015. He was born in Dallas, TX to James L. Camp and Ariana W. Camp and was preceded in death by them and his brother Thomas M. Camp, his sister Stirling Camp Austin and a nephew Brent Austin. graduating from Highland Park High School, Dr. Camp went on to earn a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and then received a scholarship from Texas Tech University where he earned an M.B.A. He went on to earn advanced degrees from University of North Texas. He shared a love of flying with his father and spent many joyous years traveling the world while establishing a successful career with Delta Air Lines and then Air New Zealand in marketing and sales. Fortunate enough to have two career loves, Dr. Camp became a psychotherapist in 1984 and has guided thousands of Dallasites to happier, more productive lives. He had a lengthy history of volunteer work and served on many boards, such as The 500, Inc., five years as a board member of the Texas Counseling Association and was appointed to two two-year terms to the University of North Texas Advisory Council. He was also a founding board member of the Dallas Metro Counseling Association. He is survived by his brother Alec G. Camp of Dallas, Texas, his sister Ariana M. Camp of Plano, Texas and eight nieces and nephews. He was beloved by a host of friends and family members for his sense of humor and loyalty and was appreciated by his patients for his warmth, caring and understanding as he guided them through troubled waters. A memorial service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest on , 18, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. followed by internment at Greenwood at a later date. Dr. Camp will always be remembered by his favorite motto, "I Believe I Can Fly". |

Obituary: William (Bill) MacCammon entered the gates of heaven on 5, 2011. Born 3, 1926 in Nyack, New York, Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Malcolm MacCammon, Sr. and Olive Phillips, brother and sister-in-law and step-son. Bill served his country honorably in the US Army. He saw duty in Japan, Germany, Alaska and Texas, and served 2 tours of duty in the Korean Conflict. While his medals and badges were many, he was most proud of his Combat Infantrymans Badge. He was also a member of President Trumans Honor Guard. Bill retired after 22 years, 3 months and 16 days of honorable service. While stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann. were married 3 months later on 8, 1962 at the Ft. Sam Chapel. Their love was ever present as they traveled and had fun. Bill leaves behind his lovely bride, Mary Ann; step-daughter, Pat Mogford of r, Alaska; 4 grandchildren, Hillarrie (Darrell) Jones, the Woodlands, Texas; Effie Perry, Austin, Texas; Walker Wheeler (Jen), Fairbanks, Alaska and Laura Wheeler, Addison, Texas; 8 great-grandchildren; a nephew; 3 great nieces; cousins and many cherished friends whom he loved and enjoyed spending time with. We wish to thank VITAS Hospice and the Memory Unit of Kingsley Place Medical for the loving care they gave to Bill. Obituary: Mr. Sam Samuel J. Cammareri Samuel J. Cammareri, 89, of Port Arthur, died , 12, 2016, in Groves. He was a native of Port Arthur, TX. As a young boy Sam Cammareri sold newspapers on the street corners of Port Arthur and shined shoes to make money. In his twenties he worked at a refinery for a brief time and then during the Korean War he served in the U. S. Army. He spent two years stationed in the Philippines. For the next 34 years, he and Helen owned and operated two grocery stores: The Red and White on West 16th Street and The Golden Steer on Houston Ave. He was a member of the American Italian Club. He was a devout Christian in the Catholic Church, he had been a member of St. Catherine Church for 50 years and served as an usher during that time. Sam was also an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus council #3491 in Groves for 38 years, as well as an honorary life member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Assembly #1100, for 35 years. Until recently when Alzheimer's would no longer allow him to do so, he daily studied God's Word and prayed. He was a loving father to three children. He and Helen have been married for 65 years. In those 65 years, Helen never once had to fill her car with gas, he did it for her. While he was in the nursing home Helen visited him every day, many times with cookies in hand. His face would light up when she walked in the room. held hands often. His love and devotion for her was evident. He was a great example of a hard worker, faithful Christian, father, and devoted, loving husband. Most people knew him as "Mr. Sam." Mr. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Peter Cammareri and his daughter Sarah Thornton. He is survived by his wife Helen of Port Arthur; two sons, John Cammareri of Tampa, FL and Vincent Cammareri of Austin, TX; a sister Mary Kenton of Austin, TX; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on , 19, 2016 from 10:00AM until 12:30PM at Grammier Oberle , a Christian Wake Service will be held at 10:30 in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00PM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Magnolia Manor nursing home for their caring of Sam. were attentive, professional, and personal and most days went over and above what would be expected to make sure that Sam's life was a special one.
