Obituary: George Raymond Cadenhead, 74, passed away on 17, 2017 in Lake Jackson, Texas. He was born 7, 1942 in Freeport, Texas to H.V. and Mildred Cadenhead. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1960, living in Freeport, Lake Jackson and Clute during his childhood years. He married Sallie Lucas on 4, 1961. Residing in Houston only for a short period they soon moved to Angleton. George began a long career with Dow Chemical in Freeport for over 35 years. He worked in operations for approximately 20 years before becoming a foreman and moving to maintenance and eventually safety. George was a devout Christian man who came to know Jesus as a child. He was always active in his church and served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas. He served man years in the Lions Club. George loved to work on things and do it himself. When he was awake he was working on something. He enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball for his two sons as they were growing up and he had a strong competitive nature. He taught sportsmanship with winning. There was always a practice scheduled come rain or shine and he loved working with the kids and would go by and pick up any kids on his teams that did not have a ride to practice. He also had a love for a vast variety of music. He was always listening to music and recording musical performances for future viewing. In his retirement years George continued to work on projects as long as he could. He was very active in programs with his church where he would work on home projects for the elderly. He also loved to work with plants and watch them grow. George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sallie of Lake Jackson, his son Kevin and his wife Angie of Angleton, son Jeffrey and his wife Margaret of Kyle, grandchildren Dr. Amy Baker and her husband Josh, Reece Cadenhead and his wife Katie, Cameron Cadenhead and his fiancé Megan, Greg Cadenhead and his wife Maddie and Emily Cadenhead, his great grandchildren Cailee and Chloe Baker, Elizabeth Cadenhead and Poppie Cadenhead. George is also survived by his brothers Earl Cadenhead and his wife Claire, Doug Cadenhead and his wife Sue and his sister in-law Edna Cadenhead and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents H.V. and Mildred Cadenhead and his brothers H.V., Jr. and Harold (Buddy) Cadenhead. Visitation will be held at Restwood on 19, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Service will be held at Brazos Pointe Fellowship on 20, 2017 at 10:00am, with the burial to follow at Restwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Georges name to The Dream or to the Brazosport High School Class of 1960 Scholarship Fund at the Brazosport Foundation. |

Barclay and her husband, Harold, of Grand Prairie, Texas and Renee M. Argumaniz and her husband Pedro, of Arlington, Texas; brother, James Oliver Cadenhead of Pecan Gap, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Hale, Dennis Kyle Smith, Joshua Smith, Natalie Argumaniz-Stewart and her husband Michael Stewart, Erica Argumaniz, Daniel Griffin and Abigail Argumaniz; great-grandchildren, Bryce Smith, Cayleigh Smith, James Hale, Jr., Ashley Ethington, Madeleine Argumaniz-Stewart and Stephen Craig; and great-great grandchildren Marley Ethington, Presley Ethington, and Justin Ethington, Jr. Bobby was born on 12, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Marguerite Marie and Jesse Brinson Cadenhead. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, Texas. In 1948 he joined the military as part of the 82nd Airborne Division and received an honorable discharge in 1952, after which he attended and graduated from Texas Trade School and had a long career as a Radio and Television Engineer, working at LTV, Collins Radio and finally, Moztek before retiring. Bobby was a great family man and loving son, father and “grampy.” He worked on projects such as home renovation, vintage car restoration and gardening. Bobby was a social, active man who loved dancing and could be found evenings at the Opry in Roxton; he also enjoyed golfing and playing games and cards, and loved traveling with his sweetheart Lois, spending summers in Iowa near her family. He was also involved with the Pecan Gap United Methodist Church. A funeral is scheduled for Bobby at the United Methodist Church in Pecan Gap, 403 N. Second Street, Pecan Gap, Texas on , 7, 2017 at 12:00pm, with a visitation from 10am – 12pm and Rev. Michael Rowe will officiate.
