Obituary: Charles Moran Irvine, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on 2, 2014. He was born in Jackson, TN. on 21, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mable Irvine and his sons, Samuel Curtis Irvine and David Chandler Irvine. He is survived by his loving wife, Jayne Irvine; his son, Charles M. Irvine, Jr.; his twin daughters, Lisa Shawn Irvine and Leslie Dawn Ivey; his stepson, James T. Piercey; his grandchildren, Chad Irvine, Tanner Irvine, Sawyer Irvine, Shelton Mock, Tara Ivey, Will Ivey and Mazie Waldon and four great-grandchildren. During World War II he left Jackson High School to join the Army Air Corps. Upon his return, he was awarded his high school diploma by the mayor. attending Lambuth , he began his lifes career in sales and as a business owner in Jackson and Memphis, TN. He was one of the founding members of Balmoral Presbyterian Church. He was proud of his family, his friends and his two holes-in-one. Obituary: Charles Curtis "Curt" Gay Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on , 3, 2014. The world has lost another good man. He was born 16 1938 to Charles and Otey Gay. Curt grew up in the Highland Heights area of Memphis, TN. He was in the graduating class of 1956 at Treadwell High School. high school, Curt attended State Technical Institute, where he earned a degree in structural Engineering. Curt went on to serve in the US Army, serving 3 years in Niagra Falls, New York. On 9, 1956, Curt married his high school sweetheart, Gwendolyn Whitehorn. Curt retired after many years as a structural engineer with Lewellen Manufacturing. Many people in the Raleigh/Bartlett area remember Curt as their always punctual, very friendly and always caring Commercial Appeal paper carrier. He went out of his way to carefully place the paper conveniently for his elderly customers, a gesture that is rare. Curt is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gwen. His 3 children; Renee Sholly (Johnny), Cherri Sims (Don), and Robert Gay (Capucine), a brother, Pete Gay (Pat), 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Obituary: Victor A. Charles, 86, passed away , May 30, 2014 at Hospice of Chattanooga. He was born on 11, 1927 in Easton, PA, the son of and Sarah Charles (both deceased). He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U S Navy 1944-1947 in the Pacific aboard activity in the Okinawa and Philippine liberation. He finished his tour of duty on the carrier USS Boxer. He settled in Reno NV for 35 years. In Reno/Lake Tahoe he was associated with Gray Line Tours as VP and General Manager. Following that Vic and an associate established American Transportation Insurance Services specializing in insurance for the motor coach industry. He was an avid boater, first in lakes near his Nevada home, then to the more challenging waters of the Pacific coast. He continued his love of boating east to the Gulf Coast of Florida, Lake Wylie in South Carolina, and finally the low countryof the Georgia Empire Coast. He is survived by his wife of 22 years Vivian (Austin) and four daughters by previous marriages. Vickie and Cheryl of Reno, NV, Andrea of Tampa, FL, Ruth of Tatamy, PA, 5 grandchildren and 4 great granddaughters. With his marriage to Vivian Austin came an extended family of 2 sons and a daughter, Charles, Stephen and Beth Austin; along with 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. Vics surviving siblings are sister Virginia of Everett WA, sister Dolly McVey of Reno, brother Robert of CA and sister Marjorie also of CA. The family will receive at Chattanooga , East Brainerd Chapel 2ndfrom 5:30 to 7:00 closing with a short celebration of life service.
