Obituary: David Craighead was born in Galatz, Romania to American missionary parents. He was an advocate of Peace, Education and for the Poor, less, and Underprivileged. From 1973-1989 David served in the OK House of Representatives, representing District 95 in MWC. During his tenure as State Rep, he acted as Asst. Majority Floor Leader, as well as Chairman of these Committees: House Education, Special Joint on Intl Development, and Municipal Gov . 16 years of Legislative service, David remained involved at the State Capital as Lobbyist for the OK Conference of Churches & the Head Injury Foundation. Having received his BA degree in English and Journalism from Baylor University, David worked as Editor, Reporter, and Columnist for newspapers in TX and OK. His numerous Creative Writing works include Books, Poems, Magazine Articles, and Plays. He was heavily involved in Civic and Social activities and organizations at the state and local level such as Toastmasters and Rotary, plus Amnesty Intl. David was also a Political Activist, participating in rallies and protests. He served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. 84 years, David is survived by his wife Betty, two daughters Gail & Ruth, son-n-law Thomas Henderson, two grandsons Trip & Brady, brother Eugene and sister Evelyn. Obituary: Wayne Leroy Craig Wayne Craig, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather joined his Lord in heaven on 13, 2010 in Oklahoma City. Throughout his life, Wayne was caring, loving, and devoted to his family. He enhanced the lives of many during his 85 years. Wayne was born 3, 1925 in Konawa, Oklahoma, to James Marion and Esther Evelyn (Fuqua) Craig. He married the love of his life, Dolores Hicks, over 64 years ago on 20, 1945. Wayne and had two sons, Michael and Patrick, and two daughters, Ruth and Teresa, who will be forever proud of having Wayne as their father. He completed his Bachelors Degree at East Central State and furthered his education with a Masters Degree from Colorado State University. He began teaching in Oklahoma; however, he spent most of his career in education--over 30 years--in Alamogordo, New Mexico. During summers he immensely enjoyed serving as a Park Ranger at the White Sands National Monument. In his later years he enjoyed his cattle and his acreage. PFC Craig served his country valiantly in the European Theatre of World War II. He saw action and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. His awards include the Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Wayne leaves behind a large, adoring family. In addition to his wife , he is survived by daughter Ruth Runyan and husband Buddy of Brighton, Colorado, son Mike Craig of Oklahoma City, daughter Teresa Ryan and husband Don of Oklahoma City, and son Pat Craig and wife Tammy of Amarillo, Texas. Thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren will also miss their "Pa Craig." The family would like to thank the Oklahoma City Veterans Hospital for several years of their expertise, attentiveness and caring that gave us more time with our hero. Services will be held , 17, 10:00 a.m. at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. in Palmer , Sulphur, Oklahoma. Friends may call at Guardian West on from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Childrens . |

Obituary: Robert Owen Craig 9/7/1942-8/25/2010 Robert Craig, age 67, of Oklahoma City, passed away after a lengthy illness on , 25, 2010, at Norman Regional Hospital. Robert was born in Chickasha, Ok, and was a graduate of the Chickasha High School class of 1960. He remained in Chickasha until moving to Oklahoma City in 2007. Robert spent 25 years as a meat cutter, owned a small grocery store, and later spent 12 years as a cross country truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gospel music, and spending time with family and friends. Robert was a member of Laverty Baptist Church in Chickasha and more recently Heavenly Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
