Obituary: A graveside service will be held for Ronald Lawrence Croxton at 10:00 am on , 10, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Ron was born in Tulare, California 5, 1939 to James and Velma Croxton. a lengthy illness, Ron went to be with the Lord 4, 2016. As a young boy Ron attended several grade schools prior to the Croxton family settling in Ridgecrest, California. Growing up Ron was always at his father's side. He learned the value of hard work, how to serve his family, care for a home, work on cars and take meticulous care of his tools. In 1958 Ron graduated from Burrroughs High School. He eventually moved to Bakersfield and went on serve a 4 year apprenticeship in the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers, where he was a proud member for 50 years. In 1980 Ron was elected by the brotherhood to serve as Business Manager. He held the office for 3 years. On 22, 1984 Ron married Yvonne, his soul mate. were best friends and enjoyed camping, traveling and time spent with family. Ron spent many weekends hunting, and off-roading in his 1968 Ford Bronco. Ron had a life-long love of football. He was a loyal fan of the USC Trojans. Fight on! And, he never missed a game. In 1953, as a young boy of 13, Ron was baptized at 1st Missionary Baptist Church. The scripture found in Micah 6:8 perfectly characterizes Ron's faith... "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Ron was a devoted son, lovingly caring for his parents until the time of their death. Ron is survived by his wife of 32 years, Yvonne Croxton, his children Edward Croxton and Tina Minton, step daughters Lisa and son-in-law David Johnson, Lynda and son-in-law Don Rush, Lillian and son-in-law Brad Whittington, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sister, Betty and brother-in-law Henry Miranda and his nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Thu Yein, MD with Kaiser Permanente for the extraordinary care he provided that contributed to the quality of Ron's life. The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Sharon Smith, MD, Jana, Marissa, Jennifer, Chris, Julie and Chaplain Lorenzo with Optimal and Hospice. Ron will always be remembered as a quiet, funny, kind and generous man. He was a loving husband, and a caring father and grandfather. Obituary: Reba Croxen was called home to join our Heavenly Father on , 2, 2015, at the age of 93. She passed away at her daughters home in Ventura, California. She had been lovingly taken care of by her companion, Joe and her daughter, Carolin. Reba was born on 12, 1921 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Allie Mae and John Harrison Scott. She came to California in 1937 from Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl and she resided in Ventura until 1968, and then moved to Santa Maria and Guadalupe, CA in Santa Barbara . She loved to celebrate with family and friends and could always be counted on to donate her wonderful carrot cakes, pies, or whatever was needed. Reba and her sister, Ann always enjoyed time together making their specialty fried pies. Reba is survived by Joe Serpa, the love of her life, companion and friend for more than 46 years; her son, James L. Croxen of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Carolin Peterson and husband, John of Ventura; brother-in-law, Robert Seward; grandchildren, James David Croxen, Kathe Zellmer, Cecelia Matelski, Alan Wayne Kirtman, and Lisa Michelle Herald. She has ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren who called her their special Nana. Reba was also was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She leaves her family and friends with many memories to cherish. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie Mae and John Harrison Scott, brothers, Wesley and Lee Scott, sister, Ann Seward and Jim Croxen, father of James and Carolin. Her family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Assisted and Hospice staff for the loving care given to Reba. We want to especially thank Melinda Martin, Jacquie, Nikki and Margarita who gave above and beyond with their skills, love and compassion. Visitation will take place on , 11, 2015, 11:00 am, at Ted Mayr , 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. A Celebration of Rebas Life will begin at 12Noon, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating.
