Obituary: David Lowell Crouse was born on 27, 1922 to Ralph & Rhea Crouse in Orosi, CA. He passed into the loving arms of Jesus on 1, 2009, at the age of 87 years. David grew up and attended schools in the Ivanhoe and Visalia area. He met the love of his life, Evelyn Mignon Farrell, on a blind date and they married in Ivanhoe, CA in 1942. were married for 67 years. During WWII David served in the U. S. Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. He was a farmer all of his life and served on the Ivanhoe Irrigation District Board from of 1953 through of 2009. He also served on various olive committees, including: Rocca Bella, Orinda, and Lindsay Olive Growers. He was on the California State Olive Administrative Committee. He stayed involved in his farming business until his death. David was an active member of the Ivanhoe Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as school secretary and trustee. Later he joined the Visalia Presbyterian Church. Everyone loved to hear Dads great story telling and he was always ready for a funny joke or prank. We will all miss him very much. Family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He spent every possible moment he could entertaining and enjoying them. Survivors include his wife Evelyn (Ginger) Crouse, Visalia, sons: David Andrew Crouse (Ginger), Visalia, Thomas Lowell Crouse (Peggy), Arkansas, Daniel Ralph Crouse (Jamie), Oregon, Robert Joseph Crouse (Judith), Visalia, Timothy Farrell Crouse (Betsy),Washington and daughter, Jacqueline Elaine Montgomery (Bill), Three Rivers, CA. Other survivors include a brother Carl Crouse of Woodland and sisters Dorothy White, Visalia, Eunice Frey, Woodlake, and Geraldine Eslick of Escondido, 11 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Davids parents and 2 siblings, Calvin and Lois preceded him in death. Graveside Services will be held on , 10, 2009, 11:00 a.m., Visalia District , Visalia, CA with a Memorial Service following at the First Presbyterian Church on Oak & Locust, Visalia.
