Obituary: Lynn Yvette Manion was born 21, 1957, to Gloster McKay and Phyllis Jean Manion. She was the eldest of three children, two daughters and one son. Her parents and sister, Lisa preceded her in death. She began walking at the age of nine months. She received her elementary education in the San Francisco Public Schools. The family moved to San Jose, California, where she graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1975. Following high school, she attended San Jose State University. She then completed training and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from University of Phoenix in 2010. Lynn was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Arvelle Thompson in 1977. To that union two children were born-a daughter, Monique Nichole and a son, Cameron Lamar. Arvelle passed away in 2010. Lynn had a very intimate relationship with her children and made special time for each of them individually. She also carried that principle over to her grandchildren and other relatives and special friends. One of her special ways of communicating with her grandchildren, was that she would make up songs and record them so they could listen to them while she was away. She had a way of making special memories for all who knew her. Lynn received Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young adult. She attended Living Waters Church of God in Christ, and Maranatha Christian in San Jose. She was a great teacher of the Ladies Bible Class and enjoyed assisting with the audio visual & photography departments. She was active with the youth of the church which was one of her greatest passions. Her employment has included Lockheed Martin Space and Missiles; and the U. S. Postal Service. Her last position was with Santa Clara as Rehabilitation Officer. She found this position very rewarding because she had a lifelong passion to encourage and help young adults and troubled youth make a difference in their lifestyles. She authored a book for parents, titled, COMMUNICATION, The Way Into Your Childs World. It is in the process of being published. She had a deep interest and involvement in both secular and spiritual worlds. Lynn and her husband, James met, 1, 2009. fell in love and were united in marriage 15, 2012. Lynn Yvette Conner, departed this life on 11, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James Conner, Jr.; daughter, Monique N. Thompson (Donald Matthis) of Sacramento; son, Cameron L. Thompson (Jacinta Turner) of San Jose; son, James D. and Corrine Conner; daughter, Candies M. and Terrell Slaughter, Sr., and daughter Alexis N. Conner of Pittsburg; granddaughters Leilani Martin, and Jaiana Waters, Toccara Slaughter, Nakayla Conner; grandsons Jahsaan Martin, twins, Arvelle, and Cameron, Thompson, Jr.; Terrell Slaughter, Tyren Slaughter; Darien Conner; Cowin Conner; Brother, Gregory Manion (Connie) of Manville, Texas; Grandmother Marguerite Ingram of Daly City; Aunts, Cynthiel Thomas of Daly City; Claudette Crump of Los Angeles, Karen Vance of San Francisco; Lenora Manion of San Francisco, and a host of other relatives and friends. under the direction of Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, Fremont, CA. |
