Obituary: On 7, 2010, shortly before midnight, Jane Pixley Compere was called to her eternal, heavenly home. She passed peacefully from this earth just four weeks after being diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Mrs. Compere was born in Oklahoma City on 22, 1928. As a young girl, she lived in Texas, Florida, and New York, before her family finally settled in Los Angeles, California. graduating from Marlborough School, she attended Pomona and UCLA. On 14th, 1947, she married Wesley Eugene Compere, Jr., a holy matrimony that spanned over 62 years. shared not only an unceasing love for each other, but an unfailing faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Together they trusted and served Him, praying together, and looking to His Holy Word for guidance. As a wife and mother, Jane was always supportive, loving, forgiving, and protecting, always putting the needs of others before her own. In difficult times, she looked to our Heavenly Father for comfort, so that she could comfort those around her. Standing at her husbands side, she served God faithfully, striving to seek His will, and in so doing accompanied her husband to places as varied as Tokyo, Alaska, Baja California, London and Paris. She was active for over 40 years as a member of Avenue Baptist Church in San Diego. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Wesley Eugene Compere, Jr, her daughter Francie, and her granddaughter Susanna. She is survived by her son, Bob and wife Karen; daughter, Cathie; son, Bill and wife Janie; and grandchildren, Ryan and wife Shannon, and Leeanne. While we grieve our earthly loss, we celebrate her victory by grace, through her faith in Jesus Christ, and are confident that in Gods perfect timing we will be reunited for eternity in Gods presence.
