Obituary: Vince was born on May 11th, 1960 in Inglewood, CA at the Centinela Valley Community Hospital to parents William and Diane Cohee. His sister, Sherra, was born about 15 months later. He was a very curious lad and demonstrated the ability to climb in and out of things with ease at an early age, therefore prompting his parents to remove the side rail of the crib to make it safer for him to come and go. When he was 5 years old he went to a womens meeting with his grandmother and proceeded to pull a lizard out of his pocket to show them, which produced a scrambling of everyone running around. Later that year, while visiting his grandmother in Florida, he proudly announced to her that he caught an alligator, to which she promptly made him put it back in the pond and explained the dangers of this animal when it gets bigger. The family moved to Hemet in 1971 and Vince attended 6th grade at the junior high school and he wasn very happy about the move or change in school until he entered high school. Here he discovered a program called FFA and that he could raise an animal and chose a pig he called Bacon. He also entered the ornamental and yard competition contest and redid the front yard in stepped railroad ties and variety of plants and grass. He took 1st place in his division and runner up in the next level. In his sophomore year, he met a well-known local grower of dahlia bulbs and started growing a small patch in the backyard, which he sold to local florists. In 1977, his junior year, he passed the test for the Boy Scouts ride-a-long cadet program with the Riverside Sheriffs Department and started taking law enforcement college classes at Mt. San Jacinto . One night during a ride along, a vehicle with a taillight violation was stopped. Vince noticed something unusual in the rear of the station wagon and got the officers attention, saying he thought he saw what looked like a missile. The officer handcuffed the driver in order to check out the rear contents of the vehicle. There were two boxes which contained a launcher and ammunition for the launcher. Vince was instructed to write up the report on the nights events since he was the one who discovered the problem. In of that year, the family had a house fire that started in the attic. Fire engines responded but were unable to get close to the residence due to all the vehicles parked in the street. Vince, being alerted by the fire chief while at the Sheriffs substation, came running home. He too had to drive over lawns to reach the house due to all the cars parked in the street. Vince lost all his personal possessions, including his high school awards and medals. This devastating event most likely led to his future as a firefighter, which led to his love for nature and animals, especially big brown bears. Anyone who worked with Vince during his firefighting career commented on his love and desire for helping people and his gift of serving. His energy rubbed off on those around him and he never tired of doing what he loved most. In 1980, when Governor Reagan ran for President, Vince and the family were invited to attend a fundraiser put on by his uncle in Brawley, who was a strong Reagan supporter. Vince sat down with his uncle and Gov. Reagan to discuss the campaign and the days activities. Vince always talked about his fond memories of this time in his life. ? Around 1980, Vince met Pam while cruising the main drag of Hemet with his friends on and nights. dating for about 8 months, one of Pams friends predicted hes gonna ask you to marry him very soon! Pam, being who she is, said What? You e crazy. About four months later, he asked her if she wanted to go to his uncles jewelry shop in Brawley, as he wanted to get her a promise ring. Well, what girl doesn want this, so they went. Unbeknownst to Pam, Vince was in cahoots with the uncle, who after showing her tiny gem studded rings, brought out the nice engagement sets with larger diamonds! One thing led to another and they went home with a gorgeous engagement set. Come to find out in the days to follow that Vinnie had asked Pams dad for her hand in marriage and he said yes; therefore, the trip to Brawley. This was the best decision Pam ever made! Soon after this, Vince went to work for Plant & Field, a geothermal construction company in Brawley, where his dad was the general manger. Since he and Pam were engaged at this time, and since Vince was driving back and forth to Hemet on the weekends to be with Pam, his dad offered Pam a secretarial job in the field office. She accepted the job and moved to Brawley. worked there for a little over a year, then left Brawley and came back to Hemet, where they moved in with Pams parents and married on 21st, 1982. that, they moved to Colton, when Vince started working for a company in Orange that made the cranes for Plant & Field. In 1986, Vince got tired of the commute from Colton to Orange . Pam was working for First American Title Insurance , so she was able to get him an interview in the title searching unit; they hired him immediately. In 1990, he was ready to fully pursue his love for firefighting. Obituary: Donna Lee Cohee Donna Lee Cohee, age 71, passed away peacefully on 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Iola, Wisconsin on 14th, 1940 and spent the last 36 years living as a Westlake Village resident with her husband Donald. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Leola Preuss and her sister, Merna Koula and her brother-n-law, Dennis Koula. She is survived by her husband, Donald of 41 wonderful years of marriage; her three children Shawn Cohee (wife Christen), Trent Cohee (wife Lori), and Jamie Hankins (husband Thomas); grandchildren Hailey Sosso, Douglas Cohee, Blake Cohee, Dakota Philips, Caitlyn Hankins, and Baby Boy Hankins; sister, Carol Schuelle (husband Artie); brothers Calvin Preuss (wife Geraldine) and Larry Preuss (wife Cathy); and numerous nieces and nephews. She earned her Registered Nurse License at the Illinois Masonic Hospital School of followed by a Master of Science in at the University of Illinois. She was a registered nurse for 51 years working in several roles such as a clinical staff nurse, instructor and administrative supervisor. She moved to California and worked as an instructor for California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. She retired from her position as House Supervisor at Los Robles Regional Medical and enjoyed spending her retirement years with her grandchildren, gardening, reading and visiting her sister and family. She will also be remembered for her countless volunteer hours at church elementary schools, and her 11 years coaching on the AYSO soccer field. She was a memeber of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Westlake Lutheran Church and the American Nurses Association.
