Obituary: Tyler Wood Clark, Jr. was born 10, 1934 in Madisonville, Texas. First of three sons to Tyler Wood Clark, Sr, and Ruby Mae Clark. He entered the US Navy on 8, 1952 and retired after 20 years of service to his nation on 29, 1972 while residing in Garden Grove, CA. moving to Anza, CA he held several jobs and volunteered as a math teacher aid at Hamilton Elementary School. While residing in Anza, he was fortunate enough to obtain a position as a Radiology Assistant at Eisenhower Medical in Rancho Mirage, CA. 17 years of service, he retired from the Medical on the last day of the 20th century while living in Palm Desert, CA. He resided in Oceanside, CA with his wife of 45 years Betty Clark. Their only child Tracey Wyndell Clark also resides in Oceanside along with his wife Tamara, granddaughter Ashleigh, and grandson Tyler. Both grandchildren were the light in his eyes. He got them up every weekday morning, cooked their breakfast, and helped them get ready for the day. Then he would take them to his home where he and Betty homeschooled them. His love for life and people showed as he followed statements from the Laws of the Boy Scouts of America: Faithful, Loyal, Honest, Trustworthy, and Belief in God, just to name a few. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, starting as an Assistant Cub Master with the newly organized Cub Scout Pack 1 of Anza, CA. in 1982. His proudest project was establishing Pack 7146 thru the American Legion Post 146 of Oceanside and the assistance of Calvary Baptist Church of Oceanside. He also gave to his fellow veterans by serving the America Legion Post 146 of Oceanside as 1st Vice Commander for two years among many things. He will be missed by his family and many many dear friends he had made over the years. under the direction of Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory, Oceanside, California. |

Obituary: Twila Clark passed away peacefully on May18, 2014 and ascended upward to heaven and into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Twila was a devout Christian and her faith in the Lord sustained her throughout her entire life. Her wish to spend her final days in Big Bend with her beloved dog Sammie was fulfilled by her son Syd, his wife Terry and a group of amazing caregivers who loved, cherished and took such excellent care of her. The family thanks each and every one of you; you've made this wish possible and we will be forever grateful. Twila Clark was born on 2, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri. She grew up in Great Falls, Montana where her family owned Idowell Creamery. She graduated from the University of Michigan and began her career as school teacher. She married Marshall Smith in 1941 and had two sons. lived primarily in Concord, California. She then married Bill Clark in 1962. Twila Clark is survived by her two sons Sydney Smith of Reno, Nevada and Russell Smith of Fairfax, Virginia. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Marie Tinnes, Eric Smith (deceased), Randi Ray, Leslie Smith and Traber Smith. She was an active participant in all of their lives. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Jackson Ray, Cambell Ray, Marina Tinnes, Allison Smith (deceased) and Trevor Smith (deceased), all of whom she treasured dearly. She is also survived by her three step children Mary Andrew, Diana Canto and Bill Clark and their collective nine children and six grandchildren. Twila and Bill Clark found their slice of heaven in Big Bend in the early nineteen-seventies; bought property and together built their dream home on the Pit River. Bill Clark passed away in 1987 and Twila remained at the place she dearly loved. Twila was independent, resourceful and undeterred by lifes challenges. She was a pillar in the Big Bend community. She was instrumental in founding the Big Bend Community Church and taught Bible studies to local children. She organized the Fourth of Parade and served for many years as the Parade Marshall. She was active in the Community and many fundraising events. One of Twilas passions was music. She was a concert violinist and played in the Oakland Symphony and numerous chamber groups. She shared her love of music by tutoring children in the community and playing her violin at church services.Twila also loved to swim. She ribboned in many swim meets while in high school and her love for the water never faded. Over the last seven and a half decades, Twila was active in PEO, serving as president of her chapter in the nineteen-nineties. This organization established in 1869, now has over a quarter of a million PEO sisters that continue to carry out its mission of providing enhanced educational opportunities for women via scholarships and grants. Twila cared deeply about others and was a friend to so many. Everyone fortunate enough to know Twila bonded quickly with her infectious smile, piercing blue eyes and her kind-hearted spunky spirit. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Services will be held on , May 26th at 9:30 AM at the Halcumb in Round Mountain, California. ward, at 1:30 PM, a celebration of her life will take place at the Big Bend Community . under the direction of McDonald's Chapel, Burney, CA. |
