Obituary: Olive A. Chivers, our dear sister, auntie and great auntie passed away suddenly on 20, 2016. She was born in Ukraina, Manitoba on 27, 1923. She grew up on the family farm with her sisters Marge, Ann and brother Ivan. She was a very bright and capable student finishing primary school early. She moved to Winnipeg to further her studies where she later met the love of her life, the dapper George Chivers. marrying in Minnesota, Olive and George spent their honeymoon driving around the US stopping to visit relatives in Palo Alto. Finding Northern California a bit too cold, they continued down to San Diego. found the perfect spot to start their new life together. Soon after sister Marge came to San Diego, then a few years later, sister Ann with her husband and family moved here too. In San Diego, Olive continued her education and began her career at Great American Bank as an assistant to Gordon Luce. With her intelligence and great business know how, she worked her way up through the company quickly. When Olive retired she was the Senior Vice President Regional Manager of Great American Bank. An outstanding achievement for a woman in an era with fewer corporate career opportunities for women. There was no glass ceiling for Olive Chivers. retiring, Olive stayed active in her community of Old Town. She received numerous accolades from political leaders as she continued for many years of service on local planning commission boards. Once retired, Olive and her husband George had more time to enjoy one of their favorite pastimes, cruising. went on many voyages all around the globe. Sister Ann and husband Bill joined them on some cruises adding to the fun. Olive and George were a striking couple. Their love for each other was as epic as true love could be and continued to see the world together for many happy years. Olive A. Chivers was an amazing woman, wife, sister and auntie. She was not only a very accomplished professional, she was intelligent, beautiful and generous. Olive had a style all her own. People have described her as grand dignified elegant and yet strong. She always carried herself with poise and grace. Her family will deeply miss her strength of character, her beautiful smile, her undeniable presence and the love she has given us. Olive Chivers was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Chivers, sister Marge and brother-in-law Dr. William Seal, and brother-in-law William C. Niven, brother Ivan Shaker. She is survived by sister Ann Niven, niece Debbie Eckert-Chetakian and spouse Ted, nephew John W. Niven and spouse Pam, niece Karen Howlett and spouse Robert. Along with grand nephews; Bryan Eckert (spouse Veronica, great nephews Daxon and Jedidiah) and Cameron Niven and grand nieces; Kate Eckert, Danielle Eckert and Samantha Niven. The funeral service to honor Olive A. Chivers will be on 2/27/2016 at 11:00 am at El Camino Memorial, Sorrento Valley. |

Obituary: Richard Damian Chivaroli of Westlake Village, California peacefully entered eternal life on , 28th 2014 at the age of 60. Renowned Businessman, Proud Father, Devoted Grandfather, Staunch Republican, Selfless Philanthropist, A true Lover of Life, and self-proclaimed "Fashion Icon". It has been said that the flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Though he left the world before his adoring friends, family, and employees were ready, Rick illuminated this world with his spirit, passion, and love. Rick's tremendous life began in the humble coal regions of Shamokin, Pennsylvania as the only child of Katherine and Conn Chivaroli. Rick was a lifelong devout Catholic, and learned the traditions of the Church as a steadfast altar boy. Earning the reputation of small town scholar-athlete star, Rick was revered and feared on the mat as a Championship High School Wrestler. In 1973, Rick entered The Pennsylvania State University. It is here that he developed business techniques that that he attributed to his prominent career as a President and Chief Executive Officer. Outside of the classroom, Rick earned a leadership position as Social Chair of The Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Rick personally ensured that under his leadership, Phi Delta Theta would preserve and extend their festive reputation. A lifelong Penn State Lion and Endowed Donor, Rick selflessly contributed to less fortunate children allowing many to receive the education and experience he felt so blessed to be given. In 1977, Rick married longtime girlfriend, Donna Kunkel. In 1980, they set out to start a new life in California. It was here in California that Rick set his roots in Ventura , and took on his most cherished roll, father. To his children Christian and Kiera, Rick was a faithful and loving father coaching them every season in sports, standing with them at every life milestone. Rick earned a well-deserved place in the Oak Park High School Hall of Fame for his role as the Founder and President of the Booster Club. Under his guidance, Oak Park High's athletics were able to raise funds, grow successfully, and become a source of pride for hundreds of Ventura Students. In 1993, Rick founded Chivaroli & Associates Insurance Services. It was under his expert tutelage that Chivaroli & Associates would grow to become one of the Nation's most well respected care Insurance Brokerage firms. As a leader, Rick was known for his passion, unwavering drive, and intelligence. As a dutiful philanthropist, Rick served on the Board of Directors of numerous Political, Charitable, and care related Foundations. The spirit and values of that Rick instilled in Chivaroli & Associates as well as their commitment to excellence live on under the guidance of his children, and through his cherished employees. Rick is survived by his children; Christian (wife Tiffany) and Kiera (husband Mike) and four adoring grandchildren; Kiani, Ford, Hudson, and Trenton. Rick had a personality that electrified every room that he entered. His undying spirit will live on through his family, faithful employees, Penn State University, and of those he touched through his seemingly endless Charitable Support.
