Obituary: Steve was born in St. Louis, Missouri 31, 1946 and celebrated 68 Halloween Birthday Anniversaries before passing in Laguna Niguel, California on 27, 2015. He passed peacefully at his home with family members present, photos of his beloved Labradors within view, listening to the beautiful recording of his niece singing an exquisite rendition of A Parting Glass. Steve grew up in Rolling Hills Estates, CA, the first child of Harry V. Cheshire, Jr. and Betty Cheshire. He was among the early group of teenagers who took to the waves off the California Coast, a pioneer in the soon to become famous surfing craze of the late 50s and early 60s. He graduated from Palos Verdes High School and attended Junior until leaving to serve in the military. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. in the Panama Canal Zone, engaging in several skydiving adventures during off duty time. military service and returning home, he decided to revisit Panama. Along with a friend, he set out on an epic surfing journey via an overland route through Mexico and Central America. turned many heads while traveling South, driving a hearse converted to a camper with surfboards on top. Returning from that adventure, he attended flight school in Northern California and became a Licensed Aircraft Pilot, with Instrument and Instructor ratings. Steve subsequently moved to Colorado and went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree from the University of Denver. He resided in Denver for many years with his cherished Labrador retrievers T and Top. While in Denver, Steve was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and he returned to California in late 1997 to be closer to family, looking forward to the birth of niece and nephew twins the following Spring. He resided in Laguna Niguel until his passing. First and foremost throughout his lifespan, Steve was a gifted artist, working in multiple media including sketches, prints, water colors, acrylics and oils. The scope of his artwork included still life, portraiture, landscape and abstract art. Even as MS gradually robbed him of finer touch and coordination, Steve enjoyed experimenting on his iPad to create works that he would share with family and friends. Steve delighted in presenting gifts to his niece Elizabeth and nephew Christopher on their birthdays and at Christmas time. were often unique gifts to encourage their imaginations and inspire creativity, gifts to foster an appreciation of the beauty around us in the world. No date has been established for a memorial service. In accordance with Steves wishes, his ashes, together with those of his two black Labs, will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean off the Coast of Orange near a favorite surfing spot. In lieu of flowers donations can be made on his behalf to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or a favorite charity. Steve is survived by his brother, Dr. Douglas Cheshire, his sister-in-law, Dr. Caroline Close Cheshire, niece Elizabeth Cheshire, nephew Christopher Cheshire and his father, Harry Cheshire, Jr. |

Obituary: Cheshire, Margaret Anita passed away at the age of 96 on 5, 2015. She was born in Sutherland, Saskatchewan Canada on 14, 1918 and lived over 50 years in Orange , California. Brilliant with numbers, she owned and operated a successful business and she was an officer in the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Anita enjoyed a full life of travel to all 7 continents, was involved in fitness and exercise, loved to dance, and treasured her family above all. Staunchly loyal and hardworking, she will be missed greatly by those who had the pleasure of receiving one of her beautiful smiles. She is predeceased by her husband Ken, and oldest daughter Cynthia, and is survived by her youngest daughter Linda, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Obituary: Dorothy Marie Cheshier, 80, of Ventura, died , 25, 2010 following a brief illness. Mrs. Cheshier was born 5, 1929, in Maudlow, Montana, and had been a resident of Ventura for 30 years coming from Vandalia, Illinois. Mrs. Cheshier was employed at the Broadway store in Ventura, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Oxnard and in later years a member at Grace Lutheran Church in Ventura. Dorothy was an expert on the computer and spent much of her time enjoying computer games, emailing friends and online shopping. Dorothy was known in her neighborhood for the kindness and helpfulness shown to others. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cecil Cheshier of Ventura; son, Joe Cheshier of Yreka, Gary Cheshier of Ventura; daughter Susan De Los Santos of Visalia; sister, Lois Rohlfing of Ventura and Gerald Lockart of Vandalia, Illinois; four grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held , 30, 10:00 A.M. at the Ted Mayr , 3150 Loma Vista Road, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Central Coast Chapter, 1528 Chapala Street, Suite #204, Santa Barbara, CA, 93101 are under the direction of the Ted Mayr and Crematory, Ventura. |
