Obituary: Ralph Joseph Cesena Sr., 85, was born on 26, 1930, in Long Beach, California and passed away at home in Hawaiian Gardens on 8, 2016. the death of his mother Gloria Aguilar, Ralph and his younger sister Armida were raised by their father Jose Joseph Cesena and his second wife Francis along with their younger brother Anthony . Ralph married his first wife Lucille Chelo Cesena in 1950 and together they raised Ralph Jr., Gregory and Gary. He and his wife Carmen married in 1979 and were devoted parents to Yesenia and Christopher. Ralph resided in Hawaiian Gardens for most of his life and remained ever dedicated to his city. Intelligent and hard-working, he ran the Citys rubbish company, Cesena Disposal, for over 25 years and served on both the Planning Commission and City Council before being elected mayor in 1998. Though a dedicated businessman and public servant, Ralphs true devotion was to his faith and to his family. He attended Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos and in addition to being a father and husband, was also a loving and proud grandfather to 10 and great-grandfather to 6. He was preceded in death by his wife Carmen, his son Ralph Jr., and his grandson Ralphie. He is survived by his sons, Greg, Gary and Christopher, his daughter Yesenia, daughters-in-law Lucy, Lilia, Nina and Nicole, his sister Armida and brother Anthony, brother-in-law Jack and sister-in-law Irene, grandchildren Rebekah, Christina, John, Gregory, Jessica, Matthew, Aunica, Julian and Ethan, and great-grandchildren Maranda, Lucas, Ezekiel, James, Wyatt and Maverick. Memorial Services will be held , 23, 2016 at 9:00am in the Church of Our Fathers at Forest Lawn Cypress, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. |

Obituary: Josephine G. Ceseña was born on 18, 1925 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She met her husband, Alfred S. Ceseña on Cinco de Mayo, 1946, while walking down Avenida 16 de Septiembre with her sisters. She fell in love with his handsome looks and charm and he fell in love with her beauty and grace. a four month courtship, they wed on 29, 1946; they were married 65 years. Alfred and Josephine established their home in his hometown of San Diego, CA, first moving to Barrio Logan then relocating to Lemon Grove in 1956. had four children: Josephine \, Alfred, Yolanda and Gloria; and one grandchild, Mónica. Josephine was a proud housewife, devoting her life to her husband, children, granddaughter, and pets. To everyone who knew her, Josephines persona was that of elegance and class. She took pride in going above and beyond in everything she did, always paying attention to even the smallest detail as a reflection of herself and her family. In 2005, she was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and in more recent years, Dementia. She passed away in her home, peacefully in her sleep, on 25, 2015, exactly 42 years to the date after her mother passed on 25, 1973. Josephine is survived by daughters Gloria Ceseña and Yolanda Bryan; son Alfred Ceseña Jr.; and granddaughter Mónica Hernández. She was preceded in death by husband Alfred S. Ceseña (2011) and daughter, Josephine Ceseña (1955). She will be greatly missed by those whose hearts she touched and loved her. Vigil and rosary will be held on 6th at 6:30 PM at Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary, 7387 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA. mass will be held on 7th, at 11:00 AM at St. John of the Cross Church, 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA. Final internment will be at Holy Cross and Mausoleum, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA followed by reception at St. John of the Cross Church Hall. |
