Obituary: Prisca Fering Catli, beloved mother and grandmother, died on 21, 2014 at age 92 with her family by her side. She was born on 14, 1922 in Paoay Ilocos Norte to parents Anatalia Grande and Rafael Sacbibit. She grew up in Sanchez Mira, Philippines. She married the love of her life, the late Bernardino Catli, who preceded her in death in 2012. As a couple, they raised six children: Honorio, Leonardo, Carmelita, Eduardo (deceased), Ernesto and Flordeliza and lived most of their lives in Ballesteros, Cagayan, Philippines. Prisca is survived by five of her children, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sons in law and three daughters in law. Prisca and Bernardino Catli migrated to the United States in 1991. She worked at the Great America amusement park for 20 years where she had many friends. She truly enjoyed working there and said that the work kept her energetic. She was a very loving and caring wife to Bernardino, and an affectionate mother and grandmother. She spent most of her time taking care of family and baby sitting her grandchildren and the youngsters of other relatives. Caring for them as if they were her own gave her great joy. Prisca had a passion for living very generously, not only to her immediate family, but to all of her relatives. She was constantly active, diligently looking after her family. She was an amazing woman and had remarkable memory, reciting many poems learned from her childhood. Through hard work and perseverance, along with Bernardino, they managed to bring all six of their children to the United States. We will always remember her persistent love for family, relatives and friends and we will cherish her exuberant spirit in so many ways. |
