Obituary: Primo R. Catangay was born on 9th, 1947 to his proud parents, Valentin and Felicitas Catangay. He first greeted the world in Cuenca, Batangas, Philippines. Primo was raised in Cuenca with seven siblings named Fidel, Rey, Efren, Nestor, Merlinda, Annabelle and Lourdes. He attended and graduated from St. Joseph Olongapo High School in 1965. As a young man, Primo met and fell in love with his sweetheart Teresita Banco. The two exchanged wedding vows on May 3rd, 1970 at Aplaya Catholic Church in Buan, Batangas. Showing empathy and loyalty to each other, the two shared many happy and loving years of marriage. While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Primo worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Primo and Teresita were blessed with four children named James (JC), Princesita, Christine and Jennifer. He worked hard toward raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later in life, Primo was blessed with the joy of four grandchildren named Gianna, Zoe, Nicholas and Mariah. Fortunately, Primo enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Primo worked diligently and did his best to succeed in each of his careers. While he worked several jobs over his lifetime, Primos most recent occupation was working for The United States Postal Service. Years ago, Primo enlisted in The United States Navy and proudly served his country for 23 years until his retirement. He achieved the final rank of E-6. Like all people, Primo had his favorite things in life which always included his family and friends. He cherished the quality time he spent with his loved ones. Primos faith was also very important to him. He was an active member of the Catholic Church and served as a member of the Catholic Cursullistas of St. Jerome. On May 10th, 2011, Primo R. Catangay passed away in San Diego, California. He is survived by his loving wife Teresita B. Catangay; his children JC Ogborn, Christine Catangay, Jennifer Catangay and Princesita Catangay- Norgaard; his grandchildren Mariah Ogborn, Gianna Martinez, Zoe and Nicholas Norgaard; as well as many other family members and friends. A Mass was held at St. Jerome Catholic Church on May 20, 2011 and he was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California. |

Obituary: Divinia was born in Manila, Philippines on 22, 1952 to Soledad and Magno Iruguin. She grew up to become a bright young woman who excelled in academics. She studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in in 1975 from Philippine Women's University. Thereafter she began her career saving people's lives. Not long after she graduated from college, she married the love of her life Manuel "Noel" Cataluna in 1977. The following year, they welcomed their first child Nikko. would have 2 children after him, Nikolai and Nikki Noelle. During her children's childhood, Divinia made the difficult decision to work overseas in Saudi Arabia to help provide for her family. But her prayers were answered when the petition her sister Norie applied for to bring her to the States was approved. In 1994, Divinia uprooted her family to the Land of Opportunity, where they could all be together. Throughout the years, Divinia continued to work as a nurse. She was employed at both Sharp Chula Vista and Kaiser Permanente. She became a Progressive Certified Nurse and stepped up to become an Advanced Clinician. She was well loved in both places of work. Although most of her time was spent at work, she still managed to make time for family. were the reason she worked so hard after all. During her rare and precious times off, she spent time with family eating out, camping and throwing parties. She even enjoyed babysitting her apos/grandchildren. She loved when her "three precious jewels" and their families got together and was so happy when she would see them hanging out even if she was not there. Divinia was the best mother to her three kids. There was nothing she wouldn't do for them. She lived her life making sure her family was always well taken care of. Up to the very last moments of her life, Divinia was selfless and saved other people's lives including her husband's, Noel. She will be forever remembered by her family and friends as the kindest, most caring and gentle soul --a true angel that walked the earth. |
