Obituary: He had a true talent for helping others reach their full potential and brought out the best in those who sought his help. Edmund was a forward-looking man whose personality was filled with empathy toward everyone he met. He could be quiet and reserved, but his style of communication was sincere and direct. He seemed to have an endless supply of innovative concepts and strategies for how to help those around him. His sensitivity, kindness and generous attitude made him a wonderful friend for all who knew him. He was born on 25, 1960. His parents are Natalia and Carmelo Casibang, Sr. His father died at the early age of 37 due to aneurysm, leaving his pregnant wife with their fifth child at the age of 25 and his four children. Edmund, with the rest of his younger siblings, were raised in Manila, Philippines. Because family was so important to him, Edmund promoted harmony with his four siblings. He had two younger brothers, Carmelo and Cesar, who died at a young age of 20 due to brain cancer. His sisters are Carmina and Maricar. Edmund was something of the family diplomat with a firm foundation in his Catholic faith. He helped to settle problems and conflicts and kept the family running smoothly. Edmund was romantic, even poetic at times. He was completely devoted to family and friends. Edmund had a number of interests in his youth such as being a cartoonist, enjoyed hunting birds and wild chickens, playing basketball, repairing broken radios and television sets (dumped by neighbors).His interest in fixing broken appliances was how he discovered his talent in electronics and engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Don Bosco in Manila. His primary occupation was in network engineering. He was employed 30 years at MCI, now Verizon. In his career, he was an excellent trouble shooter, a master of designing networks when he explained his ideas and concepts. Other interests included joining the men's choir, and taking part in his college band, the Capo Jazz Band, as the pianist and vocalist. He enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies especially gardening, planting many trees, singing, reading books, and watching movies. Once he took on a new project, he would see it to completion. On 28, 1990 Edmund exchanged wedding vows with the love of his life, Dinnah, at The Sorrowful Church of Waipahu, Hawaii. Throughout their marriage, their strong and beautiful bond was seen by many; the boundless love they shared with each other throughout the hardships life threw at them. were happily married for 24 years. While he could be a firm disciplinarian, he could also fill the role of being a collaborator with his kids. Edmund was always a mentor who helped his family reach its full potential. Edmund and Dinnah are blessed with two children, Michelle and John C. He also leaves behind Mika, a Westie Highland Terrier dog, his best friends for 4 years. Edmund was a man with clear convictions and high principles, and his faith was important to him. He was an inspiration to many people who recognized his sense of commitment and esteem for others. He was a member of Christ Community Church of Milpitas for 20 years, part of the praise and worship team and served as a Deacon. Edmund had fought a daunting and challenging 17 years of illness with support of his family and friends. He was about to receive a second kidney transplant but unfortunately met a tragic accident and went to be with his Maker on May 11, 2014. He was clinically claimed deceased on May 13, 2014. Edmund carried with him an almost but surely a content life full of God's love, mercy, and blessings.
