Obituary: Mrs. Beverly Bason Cuthbertson, 75, of Victoria, TX, passed away , 28, 2014 at her home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. , 4, 2014, at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel with Pastor Meredith Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill . Beverly was born 18, 1939, in Greensboro, NC to the late John William Baxter and Autence Andrews Bason. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Fred M. Cuthbertson, Jr.; daughter, Sharon (Dirk) Sigtenhorst; and granddaughter, Alex Sigtenhorst, all of Victoria, TX. Obituary: Bart Stephen Cuthbertson, 58, of Charlotte, NC, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on , 15, 2017. He was the son of Walter E. and Alice B. Cuthbertson of Fultondale, AL. Born in Atlanta, GA, on 1, 1958, he grew up in Fultondale, AL, and always considered Birmingham his hometown. He graduated from Fultondale High School in 1976 and from Auburn University in 1982. A job with Pic Pay Shoe Stores brought him to Charlotte in 1984, and he remained here, working for First Union for a brief time after the closing of Pic Pay before moving to Royal Insurance. From there he worked in the IT department of Family Dollar for eight years and most recently worked in the IT department for ATI Specialty Materials in Monroe, NC.Bart was a great sports fan. In addition to following anything to do with Auburns various sports teams, he supported his wifes passion for the Carolina Tar Heels. He was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, and he enjoyed cheering on the Panthers and the Hornets, but he would watch almost any sporting event that happened to be televised. Through a sports ministry in his church, FBC-Matthews, he coached boys basketball and womens and co-ed softball teams. He enjoyed golfing events also, but his undoubted favorite was bowling. Often active in local leagues, he bowled three perfect games in recent years. Bart and his long-time friend and bowling partner Alford Ellis qualified to represent the state of North Carolina at the National Senior Olympics in Minnesota in 2015 and recently qualified to do the same in Birmingham, AL, this coming .Love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was at the top of Barts priority list. He loved studying the Scriptures with friends and on his own. He looked for opportunities to share his faith with others in various outreach opportunities through the church and other organizations. He especially enjoyed working with a team of fellow church members who regularly take turns sharing a message on mornings at an on-site service at Plantation Estates Retirement Community. He liked to begin his messages with a little joke - which he always tried out on family members beforehand. He enjoyed serving at the Mens Rescue Mission and assisting with the Room In The Inn program through his church, and he served Blanket America Ministries in multiple capacities over the years, both locally and in mission trips to the Appalachian region. He also particularly enjoyed a mission trip with Operation Christmas Child to deliver shoebox gifts to children in orphanages in the Ukraine.Bart is survived by his wife, Katie Stables Cuthbertson, and stepson, Shane Honeycutt, of the home; sons Stephen Cuthbertson of Nashville, TN, and Brian Cuthbertson of Charlotte, NC; siblings Alayne Wills of Charlotte, NC, Tim Cuthbertson of Pelham, AL, and Gary Cuthbertson of Colleyville, TX, along with several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nephews and great-nieces. A special degree of love and appreciation goes to Debra Hodges, a very dear lady who helped Katie with Barts care during the last three months, and to the Hospice team who cared for him so well both in the home and in their facility.A service to celebrate Barts life will be held on , 21, 2017 at 2:00 at First Baptist Church of Matthews. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 at the church.
