Obituary: Adored husband, father, brother and grandfather, Stephen D. Curtis passed away on 20, 2014 after a long, brave battle against severe heart problems. He will be remembered always for the courage and strength which he faced his illness, and his generous, faithful spirit. He was born 5, 1943 in Beckley, WV to the late Genevieve Bowling Curtis Richardson and W.W. (Billy) Curtis. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. military service, he returned to Beckley where he worked many years for Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. He was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, attended Beckley , Raleigh Vocational School and in 1985 moved with his wife, Elizabeth, to Winston-Salem, NC where he attended Forsyth Technical School. He went to work as a route salesman and later for the Veterans Administration from 1988 until his retirement in 1996. Steve loved the Lord, his family and Grove Baptist Church where he was a member. He loved volunteering and was pleased and proud of the work he did for different organizations including Forsyth Medical where he served on the Board of Directors for volunteers over the Surgical Waiting Room for over 10 years. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Toni (Ron) Puterbaugh of Union, Ohio; sisters, Connie (Ed) Snuffer of Winston-Salem, NC, Susan Richardson of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, John (Linda) Curtis of Virginia Beach, VA, Devin Richardson of Albuquerque, NM; and grandchildren, Ranger and Montana Puterbaugh. He was loved, honored and respected by all who knew him. Stephen was a gentleman and a gentle man. He will be missed by his family, many friends and his wonderful neighbors. The family will receive friends on , 22, 2014, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, at Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held in the mausoleum chapel at Sunset Memorial Park (1925 Harper Road, Beckley, WV), 2:00 pm, on , 24, 2014 with the Rev. Danny Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, in the mausoleum chapel, prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Obituary: Sandra Denise Bentley Curtis, 64, of Advance, NC, passed away , May 14, 2017, at Bermuda Commons and Rehabilitation in Advance, NC. Born on 1, 1952 in Catawba , NC, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Bentley and Ella Jean McIntosh Bentley. She was a graduate of Granite Falls High School and went on and graduated from Gardner-Webb University, where she then worked at Lawing & Rowe, CPAs for 20 years. She also owned a business with her husband Rick, and taught at Caldwell Community in Hudson, NC. She also had a love for dogs. Mrs. Curtis is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jack “Rick” Curtis Jr. of Granite Falls, NC; daughter, Kim Moser and husband Jason of Advance, NC; brother, Tommy Bentley and wife Becky of Granite Falls, NC. A Visitation will be held on , May 18, 2017 from 1:00 to 1:45pm prior to the service at Catawba Memorial Park, s & Cremations Hickory, NC. Obituary: Robert Bob F. Curtis, 78, passed away at home on , 24, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hanna; son, John; grandchildren, Evelyn, Nicky, Drake and Ashlyn; and sister, Nancy Foley. He was preceded in death by son, Douglas. Bob retired after many years with Black & Decker as Director of Sales. He chose a second career within and Service (including many years with Brown-Wynne/Mitchell and Raleigh Memorial Park), helping families pre-plan. Family will receive friends on evening, 28th from 6-8 PM at Brown-Wynne in Cary. Private Entombment Services will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
