Obituary: Loving Husband, Father, Brother Waynesville-Gary “David” Cooper, 52, of Waynesville, went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2015, at Haywood Regional Medical . David was born in Haywood on May 27, 1962, to Gary Cooper and the late Alice Mathis Cooper. David enjoyed camping, fishing, rafting and “riding the back roads”. He was a hard worker who provided well for his family. In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; an uncle, Dave Mathis; special cousin, Frankie Mathis; Madie Chapman (Mamaw); his step-mother, Mae Cooper; and his father-in-law, Bobby Stamey. David is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Nancy Cooper; his father, Gary Cooper; mother-in-law, Marie Stamey; son, Jeremiah Cooper; daughters, Nicole Cooper, Kayla Putnam, and Erica “girl” Stallard; brother, Brian “Puddin” Cooper (Melissa); sister, Sandra Nichols (John); and step-sister, Sonya Harper (Max). David was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and several special friends. A memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on , May 8, in the chapel of Garrett s and Cremations with the Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society at 666 Broadway, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10012. Obituary: Clyde Vernon Cooper, 87, passed away unexpectedly on 24, 2009 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Clyde was born 12, 1922 to the late William and Bertha Cooper. He was predeceased in death by sisters Lois Macon, Cybil Marsh, brothers Jake, Harold and Fred Cooper and grandson Brad Locklear. Clyde lived in Hamlet, NC most of his life until he fell in love and married the "love of his life," Iris, and moved to Raleigh, NC in 1990. Of Clydes many loves was the 50 years he spent working as a conductor with Seaboard Railroad and buying, restoring and showing his many antique cars. He is survived by his wife Iris H. Cooper, step-daughters, Wanda Locklear, Sheree Parrish (Chip) and Renee Allen (Ronnie); grandchildren, Ryan Locklear, Lesley Winchester, Geoffrey and Bryce Parrish and sister Helen Wolfe. Visitation will be at Brown Wynne , Millbrook Road at 11:00 a.m. , 28, 2009 with funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham, NC at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.brownwynne.com |
