Obituary: Claude David Cook, Jr. 55, of Wilmington, passed away, 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude David Cook Sr. and Virginia Turner Pickett, his grandparents, Robert Lee Turner Sr. and Annie Sullivan Turner. Obituary: Mrs. Clarcy Marie Cooke Cook, 93, of Hildebran, passed away on , 17, 2014 at Grace Hospital, following a period of declining health. Clarcy was born on 20, 1921 in York to the late Robert W. Cooke and Prella Mosteller Cooke. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hickory , where she sang alto in the choir, and was a graduate of Hildebran High School. Clarcy began working in the hosiery industry when she was young, but during WW II she, two cousins and two other young ladies from this area moved to Baltimore and worked in the Glen L. Martin aircraft factory. She later attended CVCC and worked as an accountant for a local insurance company. Clarcy was known for her beautifully decorated wedding cakes and delicious mints. Many of which were given as wedding gifts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byrd Cook, one step daughter, Betty Cook Matthews and her husband Chalmer, one step son, Edward Cook, two sisters, Ruby Cooke Johnson and Louise Cooke Burns and one brother, R.W. Cooke, brother in law, Charlie Johnson, Julius Burns, Hansen Hedrick and one niece, Geraldine Johnson Propst and her husband Joe Propst, one sister in law, Reba McGuire Cooke, and one nephew, Jack Burns. Surviving are one step daughter in-law, Doris Bowman Cook, one sister, Margaret Cooke Hedrick, two brothers, Carl Cooke and Everette Cooke, and many nieces and nephews. Clarcy did not have children of her own, but enjoyed her step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the following nieces and nephews for their faithful, loving care during Clarcys illness; Ellen and the Rev. Sammie Martin, Deborah and Philip Johnson, Norma Cooke Ridenhour and Judy Hughes. services will be held on , 19, 2014 at 3:30 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hickory with Rev. Bert Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church in Connelly Springs. The family will receive friends on from 2:30 until 3:30 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hickory. Memorials may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1485, Hickory, NC 28603.
