Obituary: HICKORY-Aaron Shannon Cook, 91, of Hickory, was taken to his heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones, on , May 18, 2017. Born in Cleveland on 14, 1925, he was the son of the late W. Lee Cook and Hattie Ray Cook. In addition he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. While working as District Manager for Southern Life Insurance , Aaron and his wife Leonia traveled through the United States and abroad. He loved fishing, spending time with family and friends, and in later years with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening especially growing tomatoes, which he shared with everyone he knew. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Leonia Hoyle Cook of the home; a son Larry Shannon Cook and wife Marguerite of Hickory; daughters Debbie C. Stratton and her husband Thomas of Hickory and Teresa C. Davidson and her husband James of Hickory; grandchildren Ashley S. Wimbish and husband Nick of Taylorsville, Sara Ann Breckenridge and fiancé Chris Portis of Conover, Brandon Breckenridge of Hickory, and Kyle Kinner of Washington D.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. Special caregivers Brenda McCartney, Crystal Parsons, Mandy Davis and Wanda Bevins. The family will receive friends , May 21, 2017 from 1:00pm to 1:45pm at Hickory . The funeral will be , May 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Chapel with Chaplain Kim Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Obituary: Marjorie Memmem Epley Conyers, age 86, of Marion, NC, died , 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born 12, 1928 in Patterson, NJ to the late Henry Hank Memmem and Anna Mayer. Marjorie was a homemaker in her early years. Later in life she enjoyed flea marketing. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Sumter, SC and of Extension makers in Edneyville, NC. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her 1st husband, Clyde Epley; one son, Carl Epley; and one brother, Henry Memmem. Surviving Marjorie are two sons, Clifford Epley of Marion, NC and Craig Epley of Morganton, NC; three daughters, Connie Preiser of Hickory, NC, Christine Laney and husband, Chuck of Marion, NC and Cheryl Goree and husband, Charlie of Marion, NC; one brother, Ralph Memmem and wife, Lynne of Greer, SC; five sisters-in-law, Kate Davenport, Mary Lou Sprinkle, Joyce Suttles, Helen Memmem and Josephine Epley; ten grandchildren, Erin, Dawn, LeAnn, Skyla, Eva, Carma, Wesley, Victoria, Alex and Devin; three great-grandchildren, David, Elora and Shylyn; two special friends, Mary White of Calhoun Falls, SC and Grace of Hendersonville, NC. The family would like to say Thank You to Hospice of McDowell and New Horizon for the special love and care shown to Marjorie and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of McDowell , 575 Airport Rd. Marion, NC 28752. A Service will be held at 5:00 PM on , 18, 2015 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey in Marion, NC with Hospice Chaplain Diane Brooks officiating.
