Obituary: Mr. James Churchill 80, of Morganton, went home to be with His Lord and Savior on 11, 2021 at Grace Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Churchill was born 28, 1941 in Durham, NC, a son of the late Joseph Churchill and Thelma Katie Guess Buffaloe. his parents passing, he spent the majority of his formative years at Mills Baptist Childrens . Through his life there, he gained many wonderful friends who he considered his family as well. James attended Catawba Valley Baptist Church for many years where he renewed his faith. He enjoyed discussing the love of Jesus and talking about the Bible.. James lived out his faith through his generous heart and his tireless devotion to his family. He took great pleasure in taking care of His family and friends and anyone else he came across that might be in need. There just isn enough room or words to describe the heart of his special man we call, Daddy. James spent the majority of his career in the furniture industry as a Color Stylist for Reliance Akzo Nobel, consulting and designing for various furniture companies such as Century Furniture, Drexel Heritage and Henredon. He enjoyed his career and was known for and wide for his artistic abilities. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Christian James Churchill. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Kristopher Churchill and wife Melissa of Raleigh, NC and two daughters, Niki Churchill-Lowman and husband Steve Lowman of Connelly Springs and Paige Churchill and husband John of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Kylea Churchill, Korbin Churchill, Evey Churchill, Alex Lowman and Alston Lowman. Services will be held at 11:00 AM 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Heritage Service, with Rev. Jesse Lott officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park. En Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Childrens s of NC, 600 Blackwell Blvd., Thomasville, NC 28360. Obituary: Walter Stewart Church, 76, beloved husband, dad, granddad, and uncle passed away 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Walter was the only child of Stewart and Edna Church of Mt. Savage, MD, where his love of fly fishing and sports developed. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, including having served during the Vietnam War. graduating second in his class from the U.S. Naval School of Electronics, he was awarded a letter of commendation for outstanding leadership at the U.S. Naval Radio Station at Lualualei, Honolulu. Walter and his wife Martha are members of Unity of the Triangle in Raleigh. He was a member of the American Legion, Cary Post 0067. He retired from IBM after 30 years of service spanning four states. His last assignment brought him to NC , where he made his forever home. While appreciating all God's gifts, he especially loved nature, the healing arts, and music. He was a lifelong Yankees fan, member of the Wolfpack club, and dedicated NASCAR follower. Walter is survived by his wife of 26 years, Martha, and precious companion Shiwa (his 3rd Lhasa Apso), of the home, and children Laura (Bob Hackman), Mike, Matt, and Cortney Lynster (Bill). He is also survived by nieces Louri Hannan (Tim), Wendy Vandewater (Tom), and nephew Al Weaver (Maria); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews. He loved them all beyond measure. The family wishes to thank Walter's beloved personal caregivers and Transitions Life of Raleigh for their tireless care and support. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on , 25, 2016 at Apex with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Walter's name may be made to Unity of the Triangle in Raleigh or to the SPCA of Wake . |
