Obituary: Allen B. Christy, 84, of Charlotte, NC formerly of Pennsylvania passed away , 20, 2015. He was the son of Kenneth A. Christy and Vernice Christy. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War on board the USS Wren. A well known Barber, he owned and operated the Christys Barber Shops Pennsylvania until moving to North Carolina in 1987. Allen was recognized as the first national Barber of the Year in 1960. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jane Christy. His children: Bob (Debby) Christy, Kim Christy, and Barb (Ron) McKissick, His grandchildren: Kenneth and Ashley Christy, and Ian and Taylor McKissick, and his 2 great grandsons, Ben and Preston. Obituary: Steven Anthony Christos {1990-2015} passed away evening 2 2015, the results of complications resulting from his life long struggle with epilepsy. Steven was born in Raleigh, NC and was the youngest son of Vickie & Greg Christos. Steven was a graduate of Wakefield High School and attended UNC Greensboro. While pursuing a Degree, Steven worked full time at WakeMed. Steven embraced and loved life and never allowed the ever present struggle with his epilepsy to slow him down. His kind, fun-loving personality made it so Steven never met a stranger. Steven is survived by his mother, father and four loving siblings. He always looked up to his nurturing oldest sister Nicole, while never far from the constant protective overwatch of his big brother Michael, and provided many fond memories for his younger sisters Gabrielle and Isabella. Steven will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is proceeded in death by his YiaYia Olga D Christos, his grandfathers Stratos Christos, John P Booker and Berry Boykin and his Uncle Jimmy Christos. He is survived by Vickie Christos, Greg & Deborah Christos, sister and brother in law Nicole & Edward Proctor and niece Blair Proctor, brother Michael & his fiancé Casey Abbott, younger sisters Gabrielle & Isabella and grandmothers Patrica Booker and Catherine Boykin as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held 6th from 5-7pm at Brown-Wynne 1701 East Millbrook Road. A Celebration of Life will be held 7th at 11am, at the funeral home. Obituary: Olga Davis Christos, age 82, passed away peacefully on 7, 2011. She was born on 17, 1929, and was one of the beloved eleven children of Pete and Angeline Hios Davis. She graduated from Hugh Morson High School and Queens Business in Raleigh. Growing up in Raleigh, Olga assisted her parents at their restaurant, The Wake Café, which was located on Wilmington Street. She continued her employment career by working for many years with the State of North Carolina in the Department of Insurance, Cultural Resources and Child Support Services until her retirement. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The American Business Womens Association, and the Ladies Philoptochos Society, a Hellenic philanthropic organization. Olga especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting baby blankets for infants at regional hospitals with her weekly knitting group. She was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Raleigh, which her parents helped to establish in the mid 1930s. She was predeceased by her husband, Chris; her son, Jimmy; her parents; her brothers, George, Gus, Chris, Nick, Louie, Bill Davis; and her sisters, Mary Vurnakes and Millie Prokopis. She is survived by her son, Greg Christos and wife Deborah, and grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Steven, Gabrielle and Isabella Christos; former daughters-in law, Vickie Christos and Debbie Bryan; her sisters, Jennie Johns of Richmond, VA, and Ann Sophocleus of Columbia, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Olga was a devoted and caring wife and mother. Her home was always open to everyone. One of the greatest pleasures in her life was watching her boys play ball as they grew up, and she attended every one of their games. The family will greet visitors at Holy Trinity on , 10th from 6-8pm, with Trisagion Prayers beginning at 7 pm. The family will receive at other times at 906 Powell Drive, Raleigh. The funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity on , 11th , at 11am, with burial immediately following at Historic Oakwood . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the General Fund at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 5000 Lead Mine Road, Raleigh, NC 27612, or a charity of ones choice. The family is grateful to the many family and friends that supported her during her illness with special thanks to Drs.
