Obituary: Nancy Carol Coen, 76 of Higginsville, Missouri died peacefully on , 21, 2016, at her residence in Higginsville, Missouri. Born , 16, 1939 in Corder, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Rupert Schaller and the late Mildred Higgins Schaller. Nancy married James Coen on 11, 1965 and he preceded her in death on 18, 1998. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Stanley, Kenneth, Buford (Boots), and Dennis Schaller; 2 sisters, Melba Burge and Janet Portell. Surviving are two sons, Danny(Shona) Welch of Higginsville, MO and David Welch of Lexington, MO; two sisters, Dorothy Narron of Lees Summit, MO and Linda Gavin of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Deanna (Jason) Grass, Daniel (Nikki) King, Logan Welch, and Kassidy Welch, two great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Nancy worked at the Higginsville Garment Factory, then she was a waitress at Mainstreet Cafe and Becks Cafe retiring in 1992. She also bowled on several ladies bowling leagues. A service will be held at 10:30 AM on at the Hoefer Chapel with the Rev. Aubrey Burk officiating. Interment will be in Calvary , Corder, MO. Obituary: Evelyn L. Coen, 93, of Higginsville, Missouri died on , 6, 2016, at Meyer in Higginsville. Born , 17, 1923 in Higginsville, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late William Wegener and the late Rebecca Kuster Wegener. Evelyn lived most of her life in Higginsville. She and Edward E. Coen were married on 7, 1937; he preceded her in death on 3, 1979. Also preceded in death was one son, James E. Coen, three brothers, Virgil, Melvin and Gilbert Wegener, two sisters, Blondena Niemeyer and Mildred Pragman, two granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren. Evelyns love of cooking was evident as she cooked in many area restaurants then owned and operated Main Street Cafe until 1978. She continued to work as a cook at Camelot Inn in Higginsville, retiring from there in 2000. Evelyn passed along her cooking skills to her seven children which continues today. Evelyn also enjoyed dancing and attended local dances with friends for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Ronald D. (Joan) Coen of Higginsville, MO, Douglas (Melody) Coen of Higginsville, MO and Rockney G. (Sara) Coen of Higginsville, MO, three daughters, Darlene Overstreet of Higginsville, MO, Rebecca (Vaughn) Delozier of Warrensburg, MO and Deborah Motley of Higginsville, MO; 30 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on , 9, 2016 at Hoefer Chapel located at 1600 Main St. Higginsville, Missouri 64037 with the Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Sharon Pragman will provide the music with Brandi Gore as vocalist. Interment will be in City , Higginsville, MO. Obituary: Vernon E. Coe, 96, passed away , 23, 2017. A visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. , 27, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, KS. A Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.; entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice House. Vern was born 31, 1920 in Conneaut, OH to Thomas and Rose Coe. He graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, OH in 1938. Vern enlisted in the Army Air Corp during WWII where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and an Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. Vern flew 38 missions as a pilot of B-24 Bombers in the European Theatre as well as other assignments during the war. He later graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo where he was on the Deans list and the captain of the tennis team. Vern worked his entire career for the railroad retiring in 1986 as President and CEO of Kansas City Terminal Railroad. He was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a member of Blue Hills Country Club for over 40 years. Vern was preceded in death by his wife Terry, and his three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his son, Bill (Amy) Lees, and a daughter, Patty (Terry) Dwyer; two grandchildren: Lauren and Jack Dwyer; as well as nieces and nephews. |

Obituary: Mary O. Coe, 87, of Columbia, passed away on 24 at her home. There will be a memorial service at Trinity Presbyterian Church on May 30th at 11:00 a.m. Mary was born 10, 1927, in Alexandria, Virginia, to the late Albert and Mae Palmer Longley. She graduated Valedictorian from Washington and Lee High School in 1945. She earned her BS in biology in 1949 from George Washington University, graduating Valedictorian of her class. On 16, 1949, she married Edward Coe in Arlington, Virginia, and he survives. Mary was very dedicated to her church, Trinity Presbyterian, directing Christian Education and editing the newsletter, Trinity Times. She also provided the flowers for church services and hospital visits. One of Mary’s passions was flowers and knowing every one of their names. With her family, she traveled the United States extensively, as well as internationally. In 2009, she completed visits to all 50 states by traveling to South Dakota for their 60th anniversary. In addition to her husband, Edward, she is survived by two children, Ann Stein (Allan Wearing) of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jane Johnson of Kirksville, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Sarah, David, and Kathryn Stein, all of Madison, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mary O. Coe to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1600 W Rollins, Columbia, Missouri; Food Bank, 2101 Vandiver Drive, Columbia; or UNICEF, 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038. |

Leslie joined the U.S Army and was deployed to Paris, France during WWII. During his time in Paris, he met and wed the love of his life Renee M. Boucher. Leslie and Renee came back to the U.S. by boat in 1953. Leslie joined the KCK Fire Department in 1954 and retired as Operations Chief in 1991. Leslie and Renee also had a dog grooming business, "Leslie Coe's Pet Grooming and Boarding". Proceeded in death by both parents; bothers Billy and Charles Coe; daughter Michelle Livas. He is survived by daughter Carol Hightower; son, Alain and Tylene Jousse; daughter Nicole and Floyd Jones; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
