Obituary: Gene Richard Clark, 84, of Duluth left his earthly existence on , 15, 2014 at 3 am at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth. He had fallen and sustained head and brain injuries leading to his death. Gene was born 3, 1930 in Marshall Township, Williams, North Dakota to Robert McKenzie Clark and Clara Ovedia Haug. He grew up in Epping, North Dakota and later moved to Casselton, North Dakota where he met and married his eternal sweetheart, Lorraine Delores Hanson on 29, 1951. To this union were born three sons, Craig McKenzie, Gene Richard, Jr. and Simon Arthur Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clara Clark; brother Robert Dale and sister, Kathy Gail. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Lorraine Delores Clark; brother, Gary Dean Clark (Pat); sons, Craig McKenzie Clark of Minneapolis, Minn; Gene Richard Clark, Jr. (Karla) of Woodbury, Minn, and Simon Arthur Clark of Cloquet, Minn; three grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Clark Powell (Ammon) of Orem, Utah, Stephen Richard Clark (Judith) of Woodbury, Minn and Jonathan Thomas Clark of Woodbury, Minn. Other relatives include brother-in-law, Elmer Hanson (Sandra) of Puyallup, Washington; sisters-in-law, Darlene Mickelson, Harriet Charlie Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7pm, , 20th at the Jarvi Dowd , 925 E. 4th Street and will continue on , 21st at 9 am until the 10 am Service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 521 Upham Road, Duluth. Obituary: Eldora C. Clark say love is endless our hearts have been kissed By the waltz of the angels and far beyond this* 103+ years of life, filled with struggle, success, love, sorrow and joy, Eldora was met by Jesus, her husband Lawrence, Staffanson family led by mother Christine, father Ole, younger brother Ray and sister Beatrice. She was also welcomed by son-in-law Jay Berg, grandson Jason Kulp, extended family and dear friends. Born 12, 1913 at home near Kensington, Eldora learned about sorrow, when her mother died in 1923. She gained necessary homemaking skills to care for her siblings and in homes of extended family where she grew up. She demonstrated the importance of faith, using those abilities with a family where she could walk to the country church for confirmation instruction. and child care experience made it possible for her to find work in order to attend high school in Alexandria, graduating in 1931. Eldora married Lawrence Clark on 3, 1931 and her ability to work hard suited her as a farmer’s wife. lived, worked and began raising daughter Ardis north of Nelson. bought their first farm west of Alexandria. Later they owned a farm south of Lake Darling; daughter Gail was born while living there. In 1951 they moved to Alexandria, and Eldora worked as a waitress and sales clerk. Lawrence died in 1991, and in 1995 she moved to The Senator which was a good fit. Eldora lived at Bethany for six and a half years, receiving conscientious, loving care with additional hospice support until her death 5. Eldora discovered her niche selling women’s clothing at Bon-Jos. She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and raising houseplants—known as a good cook, definitely for her potato salad. She bowled for many years, learned to play golf at Crestwood Hills and was a loyal MN Twins fan. Playing Bridge was challenging and fun for her. And Eldora loved dancing with Lawrence, especially to Waltz of the Angels.* She demonstrated her faith with strength, prudence and humility while fiercely valuing her privacy. Survivors include Ardis Berg, Gail (Jay) Kulp, grandchildren Denise and Larry (Jackie) Berg and Kristina Kulp. Memorial service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 11 a.m., 18, with visitation one hour prior. Memorials suggested to Calvary’s Elder Outreach, Hospice of Douglas or any food shelf.
